This thread is aimed at all the citizens of the middle east. I know some of you are so stubborn in your beliefs that nothing will change your mind. But to those that are open-minded and logical, please take a few moments and read my post.
I was researching some information for my personal knowledge, and saw this 2008 Poll. This Poll is done with the support by Zogby International which is one of the most reputable polling institutes. The poll was done in 6 countries, Egypt, Lebanon, KSA, UAE, Jordan, and Morocco.

Some of the results will surprise you. Specially since many of you are young, which means 8-10 years ago, a lot of you were teenagers or even some preteen, which means you don't have a frame of reference to that time.
Most Popular Leaders
In 2008, the most popular leader with 26% polled saying it was Hassan Nasrallah! Guess who was second with 16%? Bashar Assad. Third with 10%? Iran's ex-President Ahmadinejad.
Number four, five, six, and seven all have 6% with them being Sarkozy of France, Qadaffi, Bin Laden, Muhammad bin Rashid of Dubai, and eight is Chavez with 4%.
All of these were against the western status quo. But three out of those 8 were killed, and the top three had so much propaganda done against them, that I am sure they will not make the top lists anymore. How many of you from those six Arab countries (Egypt, KSA, UAE, Jordan, Morocco, and Lebanon) consider him as your favorite global leader? I am sure much less than 2008. How about Assad? Iran's Ahmednijad was not only discredited in Arab world, but even in Iran itself, there were so much manipulations to destroy him.
This is not a coincide.
This is not new. Throughout our history, any leader who stands up against the west and gets Arab support is either killed, sent into a political trap, or completely discredited. All that always remains are laptops and weak leaders.
Compare the poll 2006 & 2008.
Qadaffi went from 2% to 6%. Ahmadenijad from 4 to 10%. Assad from 2% to 16%! Nasrallah from 14% to 26%!!! These guys were getting more & more popular, and imagine how scary this must have been for the west, Israel, and all the puppets in the region!
In few years, we had "Arab Springs" (by the way, planned protests started only a year after that poll beginning with Iran in 2009) and everything was destroyed.
Iran's Nuclear Program
46% considered Iran's program to be peaceful, with 39% considered it as a plan to making nuclear weapons. This was by the way and improvement on 2006. In 2006, only 27% considered it peaceful. And more interesting, 44% considered IF Iran got nuclear weapons, the outcome would be positive for the middle east!
Only 29% considered it would be negative!
Let me to remind you again, 5 out of those 6 countries today are anti-Iran!
Look at the figures from KSA. 73% considered it would be positive for the region!
67% agreed that Iran has the right to have the nuclear program and international pressure should cease.
Again, individual countries are surprising, 71% of KSA said this, 75% of Jordanians!
And again, if you compare 2006-2008, numbers were increasing. 61% to 67%.
Iran as a Threat
When they asked which two countries possess a threat. 95% chose Israel! 88% chose USA! And only 7% chose Iran! And again this was falling down for Iran. In 2006 it was 11% and in 2008, it was 7%. USA went from 72% to 88% and Israel went from 85% to 95%.
Palestine
Palestine was getting more & more important among non-Palestinian Arabs. 69% in 2005 considered Palestine “most important”, 77% in 2006, and 86% in 2008. But see how easily the attention was shifted away & unity was destroyed.
Hamas was also becoming popular. In KSA, 40% liked Hamas, while only 18% liked Fatah. In UAE, 52% liked Hamas, with only 16% being pro-Fatah.
Problems with internal domestics were blamed on government of Abbas rather than Hamas. 23% blamed Abbas, and only 15% blamed Hamas. But where is Hamas now? How easily was it played with by bigger powers and weakened in the eyes of the Arabs
USA
America was getting more & more unpopular among the Arabs. In 2006, 57% were “Very Unfavorable” to USA, in 2008, it was “64%”. Hate was increasing for USA year by year.
-----
When I look at this poll, I feel sad. I feel like the people in our countries were getting more & more aware, understanding the need to resist the west, and their anger was manipulated in the Arab springs, they were tricked, and like multiple times in the last 100 years, unity was destroyed.
Please don’t jump to quick conclusions and automatically attack this post. Take a few moments and try to think about it. If things today are so different than 2008, is it not possible that it was the plan? Was not the west & the puppets panicking that people were waking up?
Thank you for reading & if you did, hope it didn't bore you.
