Consecutive cracker blasts in Karachi Jamaat Khana leaves 2 dead

KARACHI: At least two people were killed and 40 injured when two cracker explosions took place in Ayesha Manzil area in Gulberg on Tuesday evening.
According to law enforcement agencies unidentified people riding on a motorcycle threw the explosive material inside the Aga Khan Jamaat Khana situated on main Shara-e-Pakistan just as prayers were being held.
Following the explosion, extra contingents of law enforcers including Rangers and police reached the site and cordoned off the entire area. A unit of the bomb disposal squad was also called at the blast site.
Following initial investigations, BDS personnel said that that the explosive material was concealed in a tennis ball and contained around 200 grammes of explosives and ball bearings.
DSP Saleem Akhtar Siddiqui while talking to The Express Tribune said that a woman and a man who were sitting on the benches in the Jamaat Khana were wounded as a result of the blast. They were shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital for medical treatment.
Emergency has been imposed in the hospital where the deceased and injured have been shifted.
There were also reports of cracker blasts in Hyderabad and Nawabshah.
The explosion in Nawabshah took place in Mohini Bazaar when unidentified men threw a cracker nearby and fled.

. . . . .
Many of the Muslim League leaders and proponents of Pakistan were Agha Khani.

Just when I think that Pakistan can't fall any lower, it does.

Exactly. People forget that the Ismaili community played a key role in the creation of Pakistan.

Sad day for Pakistan, they attacked in eid to make eid a mess. And now they do this during 14th Aug. god! So frustrated right now.

Same.

At the rate at which we're going, the only people left in Pakistan will be TTP, LEJ, and other extremist groups and we'll read 50 years later how Pakistan is in the same category as Rwanda or Bosnia because majority of the population was wiped out by these groups.

Reminds me of the conflict between the Hutu' and Tutsi.

I agree.

Once they have managed to get rid of everyone who is not a "muslim" they will turn on each other until the last man is standing.

For those who think these attacks only target the smaller groups like Shia's, Ismailis, etc. trust me your turn will also come. Just sitting and being complacent and playing petty politics with each other while the country is on fire............ one day you will be in the crossfire and it will be too late then.

Just think how Pakistan used to be 15 years, 20 years, or 30 years back and where it is now. What a tragedy!

Reminds me of the conflict between the Hutu' and Tutsi.

At least the Rwandan Patriotic Front decided that enough was enough and decided to get rid of the genocidal regime in Rwanda, which ended the civil war and genocide there.

In Pakistan unless your own community or someone you know is attacked or killed, no one cares and will go about their life. The fact that 50,000 + people have been killed in Pakistan and there has been no outrage from the people and calls to stop extremism in Pakistan, speaks volumes.

The intensity of conflict yes, but not the nature in itself.

Attacking Sunnis in mosques, Shias on the road, Ismailis in Jamat Khanas, Ahmedis in their worship places, Christians in church... who has been left behind?

This is not ethnic, this is not religious. This is just plain barbarism.

Agree with that, but regardless it will rip the nation apart if this carries on at this rate.

Chalo yar, all those interested.. lets pool money and buy a small private Island and call it Pakistan V.2. Maybe it will work better than this one because the first rule we will keep is to make sure all feudal's, Takfiris and clergy is kept out of it. Also the only armed forces will not go beyond the rank of Laftain. It'll be all good.

Sectarian conflict is not new to Karachi, but unlike the Iran/India/Saudia inspired proxy wars of the 90's. This is basically no holds barred , free-for-all Barbarism thanks to the internet and the fecal matter available on it. Many of these types are elite PDF members as well.
