JALANDHAR: The CIA staff police of adjoining SBS Nagar district has arrested two hardcore terrorists alleged to be the activists of Khalistan Zindabad Force. On the instance of both the terrorists, the police recovered 2.700 gm RDX, 3 bombs, three detonators, two timers, two pistols of china make of 7.62mm and 11 live cartridges.
IG police Jalandhar zone Paramjit Singh Gill said that it was the biggest success of the SBS Nagar police which cracked the network of terrorists in the district of SBS Nagar. The accused had been identified as Sandip Singh of Saifabad villagein Jalandhar district and Sukhwinder Singh of Rahon town inSBS Nagar district.
The ringleader of the gang Gurnek Singh, a resident of Bada Pind in Jalandhar is currently living in the US and had been instructing his accomplices from there besides funding them.
Gill said that during interrogation, both the accused revealed that they had brought the weapons and explosives from Pakistan through Ferozpurborder in the year of 2010 and dumped the explosives in the fields of Saifabad and Rahon.
He said that acting on an input that some suspicious persons were moving in the area of Banga and were planning to strike in a big way, the police intensified patrolling in the entire district. On the t-point of Karnana, the police intercepted two persons and during interrogation they revealed that they were the members of the KZF. On the instance of both the accused, the police seized the explosives which if used could have cause a big disastrous, the IG said.
