1984 riots: Where is the justice?

I agree with you- it is not an anti-Hindu thing for Sikhs calling for justice for 84-far from it. If it was Jews (for eg) who commited it the calls would be the same.


The saddest part is that most Sikhs consider Hindus (all relgions but for obvious reasons Hindus in particular) their brothers. Sikhs have in their history fought and died to PROTECT their Hindu brethren and this is a tragic blotch on thier shared history.

It should be noted after 84 you didn't see any sort of mass counter-attacks/revenge attacks where Sikhs killed Hindus indiscriminately- so it isn't a case of Sikhs being angry/upset at all Hindus-that couldn't be further from the truth.


Like I say a tragic state of affairs. It has cause untold heartache, for what?



And I dare say most Indians (Hindus,Muslims,Christians etc) would want justice for their Sikh Indians.

This is a blemish on India and measures need to be taken to correct this injustice. It is a sad thing that despite Sikhs being some of the most loyal and producitive INDIAN citizens their government denies justice on this scale. Why does the government want a clash of identities? Should a Sikh have to chose between the faith they practice and the nation they love?? NO!! Sikhs aren't carrying out suicide bombings or carrying out daily attacks so they are forgotten-this is not how they should be rewarded for theor loyalty. It is so,so, so sad and a bitter pill for the Sikh community the world over to swallow and it is a shame that despite all these Sikhs in high postions NOTHING is still done to hold the SCUM accountable for their actions. What is this teaching Indians?

It is such a shame because I am such a fan of India but this tragedy is still a very raw nerve and I dare say it must be the same for many Sikhs, especially in India.

I agree that great nation of ours have many problems, but we will slowly try to rectify every mistakes, but what can we do about our "great" politicians who jump on to make short term gains just to sacrifice the long term peace & prosperity of India, 1984 was the biggest wound on India which alienated it's most patriotic community. But i m proud that people like u have still faith in India & believe me no hindu will ever justify what happened in 1984, it's just that we have to see the true face of politicians & never give them any other chance to tarnish the secular & tolerant image of great country such as India.

The list in my earlier post, which showed powerful persons of India as sikh just goes to show that slowly but surely we are on the right path.

I hate to say it - you will NOT get any justice. Because almost all evidence has already been destroyed by the CBI loooong back as it touches the first family directly. Sad state of affairs. The dynasty s the worst thing that happened to this country.

That is disappotining. A succesful prosecution of all perprtrtors would go a long way to comfort the agreived and mend views and help all involved to move on. As long as this is pending/not done there is always this event hanging over many. This is a HUGE shame.

we have to agree, congress is the most powerful party in India, & first family is the most powerful family in India, if there is the rule of congress at the center than u can never imagine a true justice, even if there is NDA rule at the center it will never like to go against the congress & the first family since they also hold some secret strings of BJP/NDA which if gets out will tarnish there image, so in the tacit agreement of two powerful parties of India, common men on street is at total loss & justice is a distant dream.

Yep you got it. Emotion is hard to convey through this medium but of course it is more than disapointing! It is tragic, it is heartbreaking, it is unforgivable and any other description you like.

Its funny how the Pakistanis keep coming here and bleeding for India's "minorities". They dont really care about Sikhs or even Muslims in India. All they wanna do is trash India and maybe create a rift or two if possible. Its been the Pakistani MO since forever. But it wont work.

As for KPS Gill, he was a Sikh. He is both credited with bringing domestic terrorism (of course aided by Pakistan which is well known) under control as well as blamed for human rights violations. We as Indians need to work towards bringing justice to the people affected but at the same time should not let our problems be exploited for someone else's benefit. God I hope so- this dynasty has been nothing but a burden for India to carry. But don't count Rahul out- man can create a child right up to the age of 80!
