1971 War: The Battle of Hussainiwala

.
ok

any thing else ??

I suppose nothing else , just that we defeated you on the Hussainiwala front just as we defeated you at Chamb.

The Hussaniwala front was returned post war but the area captured near Chamb wasnt , we now have a birgade level head quarter there , I happily had tea in their mess knowing that we captured this territory in fair fight in response to indian support for terrorists in east Pakistan! :police:

.
Its military history which even you Indians cant twist ... Im proud that someone related to me was there in this battle and actively took part in the butt kicking that indians got on this front.

we thank all sons and daughters of the holy soil for their supreme sacrifices. . .

thanks for the post, cheers...

Following is off topic...

Whatever be the case , I must commend Pakistanis for their resilience and 1 upmanship when it comes to India. Following are some of the general responses we find from most Pak memebers here:

1. India started the 1965 war and she was defeated.

2. 1971 was a terrorist action and we kicked Indian arse in West.

3. We still hold key peaks after Kargil

4. Giving references of victory of PAF throughout the wars.

etc etc.

Don't get me wrong guys but it seems like you are suffering from massive inferiority complex. Guess the thought that we must counter India and score victory ( however small or irrelevant) it may be. Atleast try to measure victories and other accomplishments on a whole rather than a piece-meal basis.

If I look at the above post , I find that the person is still living in the past where he's enjoying a victory in Chamb while conveniently ignoring the bigger picture. Its like

"Ghar lut gaya .. koi baat nahi.. chor aapni Chapal chod gaye.. Toh usi se khushi maanao..."

Samajh nahi aata ki taras khauin ya haansuin....

Grow up guys and start confronting truth , rather than just living in the past....

Somebody has said : " When a person starts reveling in the past , its an indication that he/she has nothing in the future"

This and "Selective Amnesia" and we have a dangerous cocktail....

Awesome....Carry on guys....4 pages and not a single post adding value to the thread....This thread is about a battle...This thread is not about 71 war....Indian Army is not martian race who cannot loose a battle or for that matter a war....Setbacks do happen and fortunately for us we end as winner.....Anyhow i sincerely hope that we can concentrate on this battle alone

I'm sure everyone here would happily discuss the battle if it wasn't for the fact that this seems to be one of those classic "Divert the attention towards India and ease your frustration" type thread.

Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were buried here and we fought each other on the same spot. what a shame!

.
Are you really proud of "Khalistan Movement" ? Do you remember Osama ?

Should I be proud? Well I am not proud of any interference of my country in the internal matters of another country nor vice versa but at the same time I must ask you.....are you proud of Mukti Bahani or BLA currently?

P.S. I must add that countries, that do not solve their disputes with neighbours through peaceful means, remain under pressure and insecurity! The day we learn that and move forward.......all of us, Pakistan, India, China, Iran etc. can prosper beyond the reach of the western world.

Means India lost 1971 war also :) .... good going pakistan...
On a straight note.. which one of the history books is tweaked.. the history books in India or history books in Pakistan?...

.
In any war, battles (i.e. tactical engagements) are only important insofar as their ability to achieve certain strategic objectives.

In the 1971 Indo-Pak War, both sides achieved tactical victories. However, the Indian Army was able to translate victories on the battlefield to the fulfillment of strategic objectives, while the Pakistani Army was not. In other words, Pakistan lost the war.

A good historic example would be Hannibal's Invasion of Italy. Hannibal was able to win many great victories on the battlefield, but he was unable to achieve his strategic objective of subduing the Roman state. Maharbal, one of Hannibal's commanders, reportedly said, "Vincere scis, Hannibal; victoria uti nescis", roughly translating to "Hannibal knew how to gain a victory, but not how to use it".

Of course, Niazi was no Hannibal, and the Battle of Hussainiwala was no Battle of Cannae. Neither Indian nor Pakistani generals were military geniuses, and none of the battles fought by them were masterpieces.

I think your reading comprehension is very poor, while the article has been written from an Indian perspective; it clear that you lost the battle you lost the front. Your defenses were uprooted in this battle and we captured a strategic Indian territory and we took prisoners also.

Boss you lost the entire east pakistan... what the hell are you talking about ... and hope you haven't forgotten longewalla, this is nothing compared to a$$whiping in longewalla....

Oh very proud of mukti bahini.... oppressed tortured bengalis shelved out second class citizens, national resources looted by west pakistan and after wining the elections arrogance of west pakistan not to let bengalis take power.... after the poor fellas protested west pakistanis sent the army to rape and pillage begalis. the most barbaric genocide since world war 2, we had no option to stand by and watch this. You dragged us into creating the instrument of freedom (mukti bahini).

BLA : BLA leaders themselves claim india has nothing to do with BLA and we havent expressed any desire to help them either. I hope that state sponsored terrorism of pakistan end soon, If Indian establishment chooses to support BLA, it will become very tough for pakistan to escape another geographical clamity...
