1965 war: How India almost lost to Pakistan

point is why did you start something which you cant finish :azn:

but lets not talk about that ayub khan wanted kashmir did he got it :azn:

then how come its a victory for pakistan as all it managed was to save its prime city which would have never been attacked had they not send SSG commandoes in indian kashmir .... baat samjh me aayyee ki nahi janab :azn:

Like "india won", this is another story you are told - but there is a substance in this claim as Kashmir is an territory Pakistan claims and Pakistan must have tried to win it back. Good point that Pakistan didn't get that - cause Pakistan also returned India some other land which it conquered. Some photos for your education are available over here.

Indian revisionist historians at work again just like how they made up most of their so called "Ancient India".
forget ancient india or indian historians they are none of pakistans concern as they are neither paid by pakistan nor are they answerable to pakistan

point is

why was 1965 war started in the firt place ?

what did pakistan achieve from it ?

did pakistan got kashmir for 1965 war ?

what did pakistan lost deu to this war ?

think about it ... cause thats what realli matters in the end

In the last 4 wars India and Pakistan the status quo remains the same except of course in 1971 but the main issue Kashmir on which wars were fought is still same. so better to solve all issues peacefully

Don't just say "we need to resolve it peacefully". Tell us about the solution too..

People: why is this relevant? That happened in 1965 - jusr 18 years after independence. Which means cousins were fighting cousins, neighbors fighting neighbors, school-mates fighting each other.....can you imagine anything sorrier than that? It was Kurukshetra all over except this one did not even have a moral to uphold.

Most of you were not even borne when it happened. So most of you should not try to take pride or panga from whoever lost or won. World lost, India lost, Pakistan lost. Cousins lost cousins, neighbors lost neighbors.

Only China won.

no education is important if you dont learn lesson from your mistakes .

tell me what was the position of economy and so called "people to people contact" before 1965 war and what happenned after it and what changed :azn:

Only China won.

:o: how ? :azn:

I am going to sitting on your distraction train. Talk about Indian victory in war if there was one. For Pakistan, we destroyed hundreds of Indian tanks in Chawinda, destroyed twice more Indian jets than we lost and are still holding ex-Indian posts in Chamb-Joriyan Sector. We stood against 5 times more stronger enemy and denied them a single inch of our territory. This is what I call Victory.

If "people to people contact" story gives you sense of victory, you can read that few times a day.

:o: how ? :azn:

everytime India and Pakistan fight China wins, as it makes the development of the two South Asian countries that much more difficult. The only reason Pakistan and India are not the manufacturing hubs of the world replacing China is their constant bickering. The developed economies would love to do business with I & P which have large english speaking populations, which have a reasonable common law and a large younger population. That would be a nightmare for China.

well ok then lets talk how it was indian victory .... OK :-)

1. Indian stand on Kashmir got a boost

2.Pakistan was seen as an agressor and later as a sore looser to the world community and lost its sympathy

3. Pakistan as a nation after 1965 went into a perpetual cycle of hate , revenge and war with india obsession

4.Pakistan became a security state in real terms and Army got penetration in its every sphere

5.Indians new strenth and weaknesses of Pakistan and India and statred building a new paradime from then on

6.Pakistan paid the price of this advanture in 1971 and lost half of its territory

7.Pakistan though was saved by USSR still went against it and became a USA "ally"

8.Pakistan from then on saw rise of extreme relegion based politics which seeped deep into every part of its society

all these things combined made a mixture that is responsible for almost all the problems pakistan finds itself in today and has no formula to come owt of it dont trust me look at your nation now and compare it with india which were both almost on par then with respect to every parametere of a modern nation state

In your lone time, read this post of yours and question yourself "did India really won 1965 war" ? I am holding my reply for now because I have belief that you can answer this question yourself.

Pray tell us what did they win? Did they win Kashmir which was their objective?
did you guys win Lahore? was your multi-axis assault a success? did you establish air superiority on the theater ?

Buddy....this was an war....not only a battle of chawinda. Here objectives are counted only....ok I should help you in understanding.....
Korean war: North Korea objective-to occupy the whole Korean peninsula, UN task force objective-to keep the 38 parallel intact, outcome-38 parallel remains till date, result:NK defeated.
Vietnam War: NVA objective-to unify both Vietnam under commie flag, south Vietnam objective(with USA)-to remain separated, outcome-unification of Vietnam. Result-NVA victory.
Arab -Israel war(48,67,78)- Arabian's objective-the end of existence of Israel, Israeli objective-to deny that at any cost, outcome-Israel still exists,result-Israeli victory.
Afghanistan war: Soviet objective-to continue the communist regime in Afghanistan, mujahedeen objective-to end the regime, outcome-commies ceased to exist,result-mujahedeen victory.
Now come to the point...
1965 war: Pak objective-to wrestle out indian part of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian objective-to deny Pak objective. Outcome-Jammu and Kashmir still remains with India....now say who is the winnner?

India too claims Pakistani part of Kashmir and it was at-least 5 times bigger, stronger and more equipped than Pakistan. India has zero gains on the ground and Pakistani Kashmir is still with Pakistan. Now rethink who was the winner.

Why do you keep on ignoring the most basic and fundamental fact that it wasn't India which initiated the conflict. All Indian responses were to mitigate and repulse the Pakistani attack and to prevent them for taking Kashmir.

India has never attacked Pakistan with an intention to annex Kashmir unlike the Pakistan.
