In my opinion the only national holidays besides religious ones should be 15 Aug & 26 Jan.

On all other days the nation must work 10 hrs instead of 8.

Nehru fcuked up a relationship that could have half of humanity at peace with massive mutual benefits. Imagine a Chinese Indian relation like the current sino pak relation where both sides respects the other. Instead we have soldiers up in the mountains fighting and scrabbling for worthless slivers of land.

Absolutely not.We do not want any such relationship with China which is even remotely close to your relationship with Pak.We know what sort of relationship that would be.But if you want a relationship of mutual trust,benefit and respect for each other then I would say that things haven't gone that sour and there is ample opportunity for us to establish such a relationship.

Since you are asking , I will state my opinion.

In my opinion no one - Gandhi, Bose, Nehru or anyone got us Independence.

India became independent simply because it was not cost effective for the Brits to hold on. Clemet Atlee the labour PM decided to divest the colonies which had been bled dry in WW 2. Now to sustain them it would have to send money back - something GB did not have.

Mountbatten was sent with a mandate to pull out in 48. He chose to bring it forward to 47.

Had they wanted the Brits could have held on longer, sure the degree of difficulty would have increased each day.

They came for economic reasons & left for the same reason.

This seems to be a part of a larger game to systematically strip away Nehru's comically undeserved reverence in India.

Hope they get to Gandhi in their next term.

Premier Zhou En Lai wanted to have theborder issue shelved and even offered peace during the actual fighting despite Chinese tactical superiority. He cabled Nehru 3 times but Nehru didnt respond and ordered the Indian soldiers to throw out the Chinese, in those words.

Nehru considered Chinese a 'dog that only barks' and his arrogance damaged relations big time.

Let not go over-board here. Nehru screwed-up sure, but as a super power wannabe, your country wants an unequal relationship with India, which you aren't going to get, willingly at least.

Besides, most Indians would be happy with a transactional relationship with China, where it serves mutual interests, there is no needs or desire for a 'higher than mountains and lower than valleys' kind that you enjoy with our hosts here.
