I don't think tourists should visit Iran based on how little hijab the Iranian girls wear. There are many, many good reasons to visit Iran. If a tourist wants to go to nightclubs and swim with bikini clad girls, there are far better options in the world.

I don't agree with this thread too much to be honest. For example, I don't care about those Rich Kids of Tehran picture. Under that picture, there is a sentence that sarcastically says, "I would hate to be hanging out with this boring group", but to be honest, I WOULD hate hanging out with that boring group! Just because they are shouting with their tongue out in front of a pool doesn't make them fun. I'd rather hang out with a bunch of my friends, making kabab on a fire, out of the city.

Yes, there is everything you can dream of in Iran. I have Iranian friends who live in the west and come to Iran for vacation because they find it more free than back home (!!). I lived all my life in Dubai, and even though on the layer, Dubai has more freedom than Iran, I actually FEEL more free in Iran! Maybe it's because the law isn't so rigid and strict 24 all the time. Maybe it's because whenever I face a cop, 9 out of 10 ten times, five minutes later, we are laughing and asking each other personal questions. I don't know, maybe this is bad, not good, but it takes someone who has lived outside of Iran to come to Iran and feel something different in the air.

Okay, I'm talking too much, but the tourist attraction of a country is different for everyone. If someone is thinking of his next tourist attraction and he wants to go to parties every night and he doesn't know Iran, I definitely wouldn't post pictures of some girls to attract him to Iran. There are better options for him. But if he likes to see a unique country that is not like his usual tourist attractions, then Iran is a fantastic choice.

Also, I don't know why Turks keep trolling us Iranians. A LOT of Iranians go to Turkey as tourists. It's because Iranians are more comfortable in Turkey than other countries, because the similarities in culture makes Turkey a home away from home.

I personally wouldn't get comfortable with that group of rich kids either, but this thread has another purpose. Every country has positive and negative aspects.

As a person who lived in Iran for many years and has traveled to all parts of Iran(more than any other member in PDF) I can tell you that there is not much to see in Iran. No tourist is stupid in the extent to go visit two old farts buildings in the middle of an arid/semi-arid area. The only places with potential for tourist attraction are Southern Caspian Sea area(Northern Iran) and Tehran. Outside of this area, there is literally nothing interesting for a foreign tourist to see. For these two regions, hijab laws, alcohol laws, moral police, ... making every one uncomfortable to visit them, unless those tourists are a super religious muslim family who want to have a super "Halal" travel. Iranian officials themselves, know it very well, and don't want to lose control on their society and lose hijab, alcohol, dressing laws for earning tourists money, which means the end of this discussion.

PS. As I explained before, there are some shiites who visit Iran to visit their holy shrines.

your statement has a bit harsh wording, I guess coming from your general dislike about Persians, but you are pointing out to a correct point. I also don't understand what's the point in trashing two threads with women photos, wearing 2-pounds of make up, to prove that there is no "moral police" in Iran, while we all know that it does. Iranian authorities don't deny it either and they are even fully proud of these laws.
But, I don't understand something about you either, You guys have the same(if not more harsh) moral police, and heck even these religious laws originated from your own country. So, why are you opposing them?

This is not reality, my friend.there are already thousands of western visitors whom based on their words, Iran was among their best foreign travels.

So according to you Isfahan and Shiraz are nothing but a set of ugly ancient ruins?Lets assume you are actually right on this.arent there enough nature beauties in north, Azarbaijan and Kurdestan to atrract millions of visitors?
