16-year-old girl set on fire as 'punishment' by Abbottabad jirga

Islam is only what its followers actually do, not what they claim.

Then by that logic crimes committed by Hitler should be blamed on Christianity, crimes committed by Israel should be blamed on Judaism and crimes that was committed by Stalin should be blamed on Atheism.

In the US where you live a women is raped every 107 seconds and majority of the cases go unreported, so as your logic states should the oppression of women be blamed on Christianity and Atheism and such belief or non belief be considered the cause of this?

How typical to attempt diversion of the thread topic, Sir. :D

. .
It is not a diversion but an exposing of your flawed hypocritical logic.

Right. Who remembers the young couple burned in a brick kiln in Lahore not that long ago? Or the Baluch women buried alive and then defended in the Parliament proudly? Pakistani society has a penchant for doing horrific things while proclaiming the noblest ideals, but the entire world can see right through it. Islamic Republic, explain that!

.
All it does is expose Pakistan to further ridicule:

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/pakistan-village-elders-burn-death-teen-girl-cops-n568531

"Deputy Inspector General of Police Saeed Khan Wazir said the victim's mother and 15 members of a village jirga — a group that resolves local disputes based on its interpretation of Islam — were arrested on Wednesday over the crime."

Where it is stated in Islam to set the girl on fire because she helped another girl eloped with her lover.?

Anyway such crimes should expose Pakistan to further ridicule because there is no excuse for such crimes. The mullahs are good for NOTHING. The government should get rid of their interference.

Why a country should not be exposed to ridicule who's mainstream media invites likes of Maulana Tahir Ashrafi as an analyst on issues related to politics and defence of the country

2.3 million women in the United States are victim of violence and homicide each year in the democratic state of America also a women getting raped every other minute, why don't you first explain the oppression of Women in the US before you start pointing fingers by putting forward handful of cases from Pakistan, explain your flawed and hypocritical logic first before questioning others.

And then we try to project a soft image of Pakistan. Such attempts are bound to fail, as are the rather pathetic attempts to divert the topic. Substance will always trump image.

The real question to ask is why do such events keep on happening in Pakistan on a regular basis?

why don't you first explain the oppression of Women in the US

Please make another thread on the topic you would like discussed. This thread is on a different topic.

Why the heck would we try present a soft image of Pakistan to a state (US) who has been at war 222 of the 239 years of it's existence, that's a 93% of war years while only 7% of peace, compared to such warmongering we already are pretty "soft".

Why we should not highlight the positive things about Pakistan? There are crimes against humanity in every country but it does not mean we should not present soft image of Pakistan.

crimes against women in your adopted country does not happen on regular basis?

The point is that reality trumps image. Pakistanis try to project highlights and positive images, which works only until an incident such as this one shatters it all. And then the cycle repeats. Isn't it better to look at the reasons such events keep on happening and try to stop them? Was the Baluch politicians who proudly defended his barbarism in Parliament ever charged and punished? Why not?

I don't mind this. This is natural process and we should highlight both crimes and positive things about Pakistan.

As far as the bold part the question is why Americans never threatened to halt cooperation over such incidents? Our political set up is corrupt to core that is why he was not punished

USA will do only what serves its own interests, and nothing else. Back to the topic, this sort of moral corruption seeps from top to bottom of Pakistani society, and that shows just how bad things really are, despite being overwhelmingly Muslim. What is the world to make of this? It only concludes what the evidence shows: Pakistan is a hellhole for a majority of its own people, and a worry to the rest of the world as an imploding country with nuclear weapons.

:) you have to parrot this sentence to consolidate your own interests we can understand that in an adopted country however, being Pakistani we have no reason to stop our struggle for improvement

What I said is correct about how Pakistan is perceived internationally.
