16 injured in university blast in Karachi, Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least 16 students were injured in a blast that went off Tuesday afternoon at the Karachi University in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, reported local Urdu TV channel DAWN.

According to the report, the blast took place at a cafeteria in the campus. The bomb was planted under a tree near the cafeteria where there were many students were having lunch.

All the injured have been rushed to nearby hospital and the blast site has been cordoned off by police following the explosion.

Investigation about the blast is underway. No one or group has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Local people no matter how disgruntled at state will never turn their guns against the state and innocent people. It is always foreign hands pulling strings on local traitors to act against the state and people. These daily incidents of terrorism shouldn't be taken lightly. Something big conspiracy is cooking up and our stupid government is too blind to see. Killing the intellectuals and students always hints at something..recall East-PK situation. we all know Indian separatist arms as been well active in Karachi since 70's in parallel with East-PK (now Bangladesh). Only that it suceeded in BD but was put to silence temporary in Karachi. Now with the recent eye opener remarks of Sindh interior minister and withdrawal of MQM from government, we should expect return of "haq parasts" terrorism. The script is same as 1971 East-PK only the actors have changed.

The roti kapra makan trolls failed to save Pakistan back then and will fail this time as well...

All these MQM thugs should be stripped off their nationality and deported or mass executed.

I know MQM closely from the inside. and they are running their party chapters all over the world..There is MQM Australia, MQM Canda, MQM UK, MQM USA, MQM xxxx...these people don't dare calling them "refugee" in western lands where they are living and have adopted the nationality but rather become proud American / Britishers / Candaian / etc etc however in Pakistan they adopt the so called "refugee status" despite they are born and raised in Pakistan with a Pakistani identity. The same hypocrisy is expressed throughout the mass of MQM..look at altaf..comfortably living in UK with British passport but have political interests in Pakistan. He is a British now but still "refugee" in Pakistan. They have become a serious confusion to mohajir identity in Pakistan. Over time people ought to dissolve in the mainstream but MQM tactics have put an "alien stamp" on immigrants forehead.

many "Indians" holding western passports have taken membership into MQM foreign chapters which is supposedly a Pakistani political entity. And the whole of MQM lot regardless of their origin is very active at Indian cultural events sponsored by overseas missionaries and "flirts" around Indian diplomatic circles owing to advantage of their western passports. MQM members in western chapters frequent travels to India under disguise of meeting relatives again due to advantage of their western passports.

Something seriously fishy is cooking here..its a high tech conspiracy of taking Pakistani politics into Indian influence through proxies based on western lands.

PS: i am not here to bash any body..or Mohajirs and sorry if someone mistook my comments or hurt their sentiments. I was just intending to be sacrastic on MQM definition of urdu speakers..the identity they are trying to force down their throat by terror.

Five hurt in Karachi University blast, papers postponed

KARACHI: At least five people were hurt in a blast at University of Karachi (KU), Geo News reported on Tuesday.

The blast occurred at a prayer place near cafeteria. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital. Rangers and police have cordoned off the varsity after the incident.

CCPO Karachi Fayyaz Laghari stated that it was a cracker attack in which three people were injured.

Meanwhile, Controller Examination has postponed all the papers of today (Dec 28).

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken serious notice of blast in KU, and sought a report from CCPO and DIG East.
