I don’t know. I think they hate Pakistanis specifically for some reason. We don’t have as many afghans as pakistan does, but there are a few large afghan areas in delhi.

I find them to be really great people. Very sociable, does their best to settle in and find productive work. Also quite entrepreneurial.

They don't like Punjabis and obviously a large portion of Punjab is in Pakistan, which naturally includes its people of course.

They also want Pakistan to surrender Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkwa to Afghanistan, which they believe is stolen land.

Compound the two issues, the hate is amplified.

You clearly don't have any understanding of the issue, in reality it has little to do with the Taliban.

Afghans themselves celebrate the takeover and brag about defeating the mighty USA while wearing sandals using AK-47s.

Its common for sports fans to get into over enthusiastic fights. Deporting people for these type of incidents is a bit harsh. Hope that the people caught will be let go with a warning.

It's a nuisance having immigrants engage in such behaviour. They want quality human capital, not uncivilised barbarians.

This will set a good example for the future.

go to SM, many afghans support the Taliban, (this thinking that Taliban came through brute force without peoples support is BS, movement like Taliban can never be fulfilled with force only) Taliban in itself has little to do with anything

Pakistan is a nationalist issue for Afghanistan like how Kashmir is a nationalist issue for Pakistan

They are well behaved in South Punjab and never cause any trouble.

I think there was one time in Bahawalpur a few years back when I was there. 2020 I think. Cops were enforcing quarantine in our bazaar and there was only 4 or 5 days left for eid. People were trying to get Eid shopping done and the Pulas shut the bazaar down. The Afghan shop owners got pissed and beat a few of the Pulas walas up.

Of course, when DPO heard about this he sent a convoy of elite Pulas into the bazaar and they ended up dragging the Afghans out of their shops and beating the shit out of them.

After that there’s been no trouble and any time a Pulas wala is in the bazaar, those same Afghans are inviting them into their shops for tea..

Tell me about it. There was an indian guy who sent an email to the UAE ministry of transport accusing them of crookery for deliberately failing students time and again.

His punishment was a hefty fine and a six month jail sentence before being deported back to his country.

Then there's people flogged for adultery yet battery assault only is punished by deportation?

Rule of Law is actually taken very seriously in gulf states with strict punishment given even against minor offences, thats the reason they are so developed is they have zero tolerance any unruly behavior. UAE is actually quite liberal those Afghans were lucky they didn't do it in KSA.

Do you think the Emirates or any Gulf kingdom stands for this savage behaviour?

Soccer club games in Europe have pretty unruly fans. We have read from news about fans even stabbing each other in games. Those incidents come to my mind when we see this behavior from Afghan fans. I don't support such behavior, but just want to acknowledge that people from all parts of the world are capable of this.

With respect to deportation, I think it is harsh - especially considering that it is Afghanistan that these people are set to be deported to. If people are deported to India or Pakistan, then they can at least find some jobs and support family. But Afghanistan is economically in a much worse situation. So some punishment that does not involve deportation would be better for all those who depend on these people.

I agree with how you characterize the offense. But I sympathize with the Afghan diaspora because of how their country has been ruined by constant wars from past few decades. If you can read recent news articles about Afghanistan's economy, you'll see that these people have no hope for prosperity in their home country. So the gravity of deportation as a punishment is much heavier on Afghans than it is on a Pakistani or Indian.
