Very interesti g as Jordan has till not so recently been Involved in skirmishes utilizing the same fighters. Effectively with this sale they have gotten rid of the whole lot of A&B bl. 15 planes that they had. As had been mentioned before the Jordanian AF Has been a conduit for sale of US fighters when it has suited the US government and congressional oversight needs to be avoided. If the price is anything to go by we paid 5 million per plane for the last lot of 13 that we got so even at the same price we will have 15 planes with a good 3000 hrs of flight left in them at a very competitive price. This is a good move and the recent news of MLU may well have involved these planes and the earlier lot that we got from RJAF.Overall a good move.

The PAF shouldn't buy these scraps. If your going to go for used planes, get some good ones. Unless these are going to be immediately upgraded, don't waste your time here.

How do we quantify life in hours on a jet plane? So does it mean after 3000 hours, the jet will be overhauled or junked?

Why on earth...
PAF has been operating these F-16 since the 1980s.
We need diversity in our airpower like having Su35's to assist also in Naval patrols or Euro fighters.
It was exactly the right time to move into newer jets deadlines for 5th generation 2023 We could've used Euro fighters or su35's effectively till then.
PAF policy makers are just thinking one dimensional

Well - Pakistan may be on its way to having largest used f-16 fleet like the Mirages.
Everything can be re-worked to good level. Why worry about new car smell - right. As long as complete overhaul, mlus are done it should be good.
