What's new

14th August v/s 15th august

. . . .
The way he tickles the Indian emotions, he certainly does not appear to be an idle Tocker.

You mean you think he's an idle Ticker? We already have one and that's QUITE enough, thankYouVeryMuch.

ha ha ha .......

I just commented in another thread about a commonality of expression between you and Ticker, particularly if the evening tea is served late. :)

I BEG your pardon!

My posts are refined, exquisitely phrased and thoughtful. Could you possibly have been suggesting any similarity with anyone else? I mean, bit thick, that, what?

Hey guys. The other day I was watching a program, may be it was of Najam Sethi. The guy pointed out something very interesting.

How is it that both India and Pakistan achieved freedom at the same time but Pakistan celebrates it's independence day on 14th August while India celebrates its independence on 15th August.

Shouldn't, logically, the independence day have been same? Either 14th or 15th August but it should have been same. Whatsay you?

The logic: We should have been independent on the same day.

The excuse: We are different nation, descended from Turkey, Iran and the Arabs. We are not what those Hindoo Indians are and now we have claimed our independence.

In Sumerian text, it is claimed that the Puntites traded with the people of the Indus Valley or Dilmun.
My objection was not futile. Meluhha was in Indus Valley. And Indus Valley as you know is not located in what you call India.

Meluhhans traded with Dilmun and Mesopotamia via Lothal and other ports which are in India. :enjoy:

That is why in the void of any civilization in what you call India, you invented Gangetic civilization which didn't really bloom and that is why you are still trying to find an identity.
What do you have in India to show to the world, the greatness India was. Muslim and British era historical monuments except some nude pictured temples at Mathura. The Indus Civilization is here in Pakistan. Just because you follow a religion and because you call yourself Hindus, how can you also claim ownership of a civilization.

If you were kept in dark about Pre-Islamic history of the sub-continent, not my fault.:rofl:

The word Urdu or Ordu is a Turkish word and means "Army" in Turkish. The language evolved during the Muslim rule of India. Muslims spoke Urdu and Hindus speak Hindi. We being the Muslim inheritors of Indian Civilization decided to have it as the national language. What does this have to do with current day India.

The people who contributed for the language still live in Uttar Pradesh. The language is based on Khariboli of Uttar Pradesh. There was a famous dialogue in movie Bol,"I had been watching Pakeezah movie 100 times to learn Lakhnavi Urdu." :coffee:

Thank you for the refined and arrogance coupled compliment(s).

Thank you for the refined and arrogance coupled compliment(s).

You're most welcome. Always there for these refined and arrogance coupled compliments. Just call me whenever you need a fix. I'm in the book.

We are the heirs of Indus Civilization. Yes we do have Turks, Arabs, Iranians, People from Steppes of Central Asia and the people who are part and parcel of this land since tens of thousands of years. This land was Hindu dominated, Buddhist dominated and is now dominated by Muslims.

We call this land Pakistan.

It pinches you doesn't it - and this is the understatement of last over 4000 years.

Get it Mr. @Tshering(catch)22 from Gungtunk, Sick'em, India.

You're most welcome. Always there for these refined and arrogance coupled compliments. Just call me whenever you need a fix. I'm in the book.

Will find you Sir, to fix my this, that and the others. :)

OK. Happy. Yes there were those other parts, and map contours had to be crossed after ascending from Indus Valley and descending in to the other parts, which will continue to remain - the other parts.

You are on the d o t with this. It is indeed sad that our people, the current lot, has not been taught the history and richness of the place we own. It is unfortunate and we need to educate ourselves more and more about the beauty and relevance of this land of our ancestors which also include those who captured it.

Good luck to them. Though they speak a dialect of this beautiful language.

And please transcend for a moment out of Bollywood as you like to call it (though I'd prefer you call it the Indian film industry) to enjoy the real world, as it is.

Please, please, please ... don't get me wrong. I have the highest of regards for you. But I have to say it with utter humility and humbleness - can't help it.

Your acumen rise far far above the the tailcoats and white gloves. Your butler should be associated with such attire and not the likes of you.

Again, this is not uttered as an insult - it is what I honestly feel, with due humility and due dignity.

Lighten up, old fruit, I was kidding and took what I thought was your ribbing in the same spirit. I'd be horrified to be treated like one of Wodehouse's characters who keep getting gently escorted away to enjoy their evening eggnog. :fie:
