This is the half of it. We need free universal mental health care and drug rehabs, as well as a focus on lowering the cost of living primarily through building affordable housing (houses not projects/public housing apartment buildings).

The despair in society is opening up too many of these people to being radicalized.

But there still too many people that put up false solutions despite evidence to the contrary.

Finally, we need better vetting of police to make sure we hire people who are up to the job. Not everyone is capable of doing the hard job of police work.

Yes, gun laws varies from state to state, and depending on how we interpret those gun laws statistics with many states overlaps with figures ranging from hundreds to thousands of firearms related laws, vague demands like 'stricter gun laws' do not help, not even in polite discussions in the abstraction realm. The raw data of gun control laws have been estimated to be as high as 20,000 gun laws all over the US.

Edited video showing the gunman entering the class room, gunshots and police entering the corridor. Police with pistols were expected to take down an active shooter who had a high powered rifle. The policemen who arrived within 3 minutes ran for their lives, including one who almost had his head blown off.
