Baecause Police attacked on their camp. Same as sometimes Maoists attacks police camps and kill some police jawans without losing one.

Police dont use granades or land mines to kill bunch of naxals at one go mostly with naxals gun battle face to face
and if naxals injured THEY DONT GIVE DATA TO MEDIA or some times they take dead bodies so we may not know the result ACCURATELY BUT POLICE RESULTS ARE VISIBLE

and how would Police use Land mines to attack on their camp?? They'll simply try to sorround them and challange them to surrender and if fired from other side, then retaliate with heavy fire. Same thing happened in this case(according to media reports). Naxals don't stand a chance in such in such battles.
