13-year-old Jain girl dies after observing 68-day fast to bring good luck to family

.
They are talking about going to moon and Mars but still large population lived with the cave mentality...SICK.
Chandragupta Maurya too starved to death after he embraced Jainism later in his life..Jainism has the concept of renunciation of worldly pleasures completely to achieve salvation..this starvation too is observed to attain moksha or salvation.
Jainism doesn't believe in Gods or superstitions but they have this concept of salvation just like Buddhism..Buddhism in practice is much liberal and easy to follow where as Jainism has extremist practices which was the reason it couldn't attract many followers.
Jainism outrightly denies such superstitions..these are not the true principles or practices of Jainism.

.
Sad story...
No child protection law to prosecute her parents???
They are being prosecuted.

Though it is pointless. There is no punishment the law can give them which compete with what they are already suffering.

.
LOL ....more "secular" hogwash. .... Lawyers and doctors have a REGISTERED practices and are certified by govt. recognised bodies/agencies.

Priests have no such certification or registration.

Priest do not give advice for a mandatory financial gain. lawyers and doctor's charge a fee.

Lawyer cannot be sued for work advice or for losing a case.

Patients sign a consent form for doctors.

The only hack who has demonstrated profound stupidity and bigotry is you. Now if you have done enough by shaming yourself by your idiotic views, take up a book and start getting educated.

Otherwise your public humiliation will continue till your death. And no amount of pleading about manners and etiquettes will save you.

What a terrible display of knowledge. A doctor can be sued for malpractice, so can a lawyer. A book is too much for you, so I will give you a wikipedia link so you can get educated there.

Here's malpractice.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malpractice

The case with the priest is worse than malpractice. These are people who are generally called quacks in the medical profession.

Quackery. Another new word that you will learn here today.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quackery

:disagree: I've never seen such terrible display of knowledge. Your support of his quackery gives you a duck on this test.

This priest is nothing but a quack and has to be imprisoned. His 'advice', which he got paid for, killed a little girl, when he has no legal justification for 'selling' his advice. Please tell me which part in the constitution of India or the Indian Penal Code allows one person to push another person to treat an individual, especially a minor, in the most depraved manner where you are denied food or water, all for the sake of superstitious belief.

And your view on this is downright degrading to anybody who thinks like a human being. You are perfectly fine with starving and killing a poor little girl, who most obviously did not have a choice, or was most likely emotionally blackmailed into it, and you have the audacity to call me a bigot? Well, looking at the level of your education, I'm not surprised that supporting idiocy in the name of religion is second nature to you.

.
So your "secular" logic is to sue the priest for malpractice

A doctor CANNOT be sued for malpractice if he only offers advice, he can only be sued for wrong medication. LOL.

No one can be sued for expressing an opinion. Only an INTOLERANT self righteous "secular" trash would want to go to that extend.

In Fact by that logic why not just Sue God ? I would have credited you with some originality, but that movie has already been made.

The day somebody can be jailed for giving bad advice, your own parents will be the first to land up in Jail for giving such poor advice to you while growing up. Now that would be poetic justice.

I find it hilarious how you are protecting people who prey on people's insecurities. Especially that you rely on Bollywood to make a point.

. . .
This is religious fundamentalism. And fundamentalism of any sort is wrong.

.
Unlike you, I protect Free speech and the right of people to be stupid and act stupid.

I do not think that freedom is something only the self righteous or the self proclaimed intellectual should experience.

But first and foremost I defend the principles of free speech and action. It is not something I expect a snitch to understand. For that you will have to first learn about principles and character.

It is your idea that Bollywood has caricatured in the movie above. A perfect fit, only the movie was far more entertaining.

Doing deliberate harm to someone is not freedom of speech. But you need minimum level of education to understand what the freedoms mean.

.
LOL. Pretty much ALL freedoms when exercised, can deliver deliberate harm to anyone who exercise it. Even Drinking excess water can kill a person and so can excess exercise or eating too much.

It takes a special kind of self righteous snitch to deny people freedom under the guise of 'self protection'.

Looks like in your book, freedom can be exercised only by people who have a minimum level of education, and certified by you.

In my book even animals understand what freedom means

"secular" logic zindabad.

You have a demented logic. If you advice someone to jump of a cliff, and if that person does it, then you are liable for his death. Even trying to kill yourself is a crime in India.

There are limits to the freedoms. Here you are glorifying the death of a minor and protecting the perpetrators under the constitution. And you only defence is calling others 'secular' which isn't an insult. You are merely depraved.

You lack an education in morality as well.
