124-year-old year Palestinian woman Maryam Hamdan Ammash refuses to take off her head scarf and appear on TV and become the world oldest person by Guinness World Records. Her sons and grandsons also supported her in refusing the conditions of Guinness team.
Maryam family said that their grandmother has performed the Haj (Pilgrimage) five times in her life and performed Umrah ten times and she refused to commit a sinful act by taking off her head scarf infornt of television.
Maryam died few weeks back when she was 124 years old. The oldest person by Guinness World Records was Jeanne Louise Calment of France who lived 122 years 164 days. Maryam had a Turkish birth certificate and an identity card. The card clearly states that she was born in 1888, therefore she was the oldest person in the world but Guinness World Records team didnt accept the record because Muslim woman denied to remove her scarf.
