found this on youtube. thought it was fantastic familiar sound to help calm you to sleep

▶️ HELICOPTER SOUND EFFECT. HELICOPTER SLEEP SOUNDS. HELICOPTER ON-BOARD SOUND. 12 HOURS.

The sound of a helicopter from startup, then flying, sound recorded on-board the helicopter for 12 hours. The perfect sound effect for sleeping. The rhythm of the helicopter's blades and engine, make an excellent white noise for blocking out unwanted noises.

@ Mods, close this stupid thread. Ty

i know the video is a bit stupid because theres no actual moving helicopters in it, but the point is when you sleep it doesnt matter because you have to close your eyes and u normally just use your ears, until you fall asleep.

stay positive !

So as someone who has/had sleep issues (which BTW during a 3am late night browsing session is how I stumbled upon this site) I have some ideas for you.

I think you are on the right track with sound but actually if somebody is talking monotonously it works better. Think school teacher droning on an on about a topic and how you'd have trouble staying awake in class.

So what you want:
1) Somebody talking continuously in the same tone.
2) A topic that is informative BUT does not cause your brain to dwell on any facts mentioned. It is important that your brain doesn't pick out a piece and start wandering off thinking about it.
3) Played loud enough that it is too distracting to such a degree that it disallows your brain to completely focus on a different topic. About the same loudness as if the person was standing a few feet away.

I have found listening to car reviews to work very well. Just remember to click "PLAY ALL" in the videos tab.
