We need to put loc like infrastructure on Afghan border on Indian border we have entire border areas crawling with snipers and here we have so much free movement this emboldens afghans

Why not just have a series of armed drones so that at all times 20-25 drones are circling in the region and are ready to respond. Likely to be much cheaper than the entire LoC like infrastructure over there.

This attitude from Gen Bajwa and political elite stating Pakistan has great admiration and respect for AFG needs to stop. I'm not stating Pakistan should bash Afghans but we have to have a certain level of self respect and a firm stance if attacked we will attack back! Our leaders seem to bend backwards for almost every hostile nation including PM Hassina of Bangladesh. Pak has no dignity left it seems anyone can fire into our territory when they feel nessesery.

I don't see any evidence of that. Yes he was pro hindus and not as much pro muslim. There was reasons for that, 99% of sikhs converts were hindus and not muslims before converting. But apart from that sikh empire didn't displace any muslim from their lands, proof? All these muslim tribes which have origin in west punjab still were landowners when British came. Some of them fought sikhs on local level and lost, others made alliance with them. But sikhs didn't displace them, it just means now they had to pay tax to Lahore and not Delhi. If anything it was British that settled sikhs and punjabi muslim arains from east punjab in west punjab canal colonies in large numbers.

All this talk about genocide is all hogwash to say the least. Many of muslims were not happy with sikh rule and hence supported British against them. Reason could be ban on cow slaughter. As I said sikh empire was pro hinduism by default.
I dont see him as being overtly anti-Muslim or anything like that but not purely secular either.
For example, here Ranjit Singh visits Sayyidwala tehsil and visit the local Punjabi Muslim leaders (Mehr Singh here is Nakkai, who would convert to Islam by the 19th century as well)

Btw this paper also mentions Rai Ahmed Khan Kharral as having marital ties with Ranjit Singh.

I can't understand Pak response!!!! Shouldn't all ANA positions along the border be decimated by now??? And, a few videos showing ANA barracks burning needs to be circulating at the social media!!!!
Pak response has always been so so timid and BAU. Not just border posts but command posts and installations should have obliterated. Pak response is just fire back and protest. Is it response of Bhutan or a nuclear state??

Pakistan always balances the books. It may not happen immediately and it may not happen where you think it should. The response to this may be in India. Let's not forget where these Afghan bacteria get their strings pulled from. As an immediate measure to assuage the public we should shut that border down and let the trucks back up for miles. Afghanistan needs us, we actually have no use for them other than target practice. Do that too if it makes you happy.

that's how they killhundred of taliban dialy while losing land.

Well i personally avoid going there but its well recorded that they overstate and inflate numbers. BBC reporters who spent time with them in the front lines saw them do the following, " the commander with his men immediately sprang to action as loud noises of fire started coming from across the field. they fired as we hid on the sides. after some time the bullets stopped. The commander looked at his men and said 24 dead. This gives an insight to their victories and how they calculate the losses they inflict on the taliban. " well it was something like this in the article. it was a very long article and the writer was thoroughly unconvinced of the ANA as the firing was coming from too far away to give such an accurate measure of casualties inflicted. The thing is the ANA has been known to do this and even the american army generals have claimed that they overstate the inflicted casualty. well what can we do.The indians were just as much excited as the afghans and quite frankly as i stated it was torkham incident all over again.

@Ulla this is what happened the whole story.
Chaman Attack Details:

2 day before Afghanistan forces launched the assault on border villages Afghan forces threaten the local population not to be part of the census.

5th May 4 am Afghan forces started firing mortars and heavy weapons on the local population. The attack continued and the Pakistani post in the area was also targeted. The attack continued for several hours huge explosions rocked the villages and injured 4 FC soldiers. Pakistan contacted the Afghan authorities and asked them to stop the violation of border but the Afghan offensive continued. Pakistan issued the troops to launch the offensive and retaliate with few minutes the offensive was launched and Afghan posts were targeted. PAF was alerted and PA reinforcements were dispatched. Chamman border crossing was closed immediately. Afghan post which were firing at Pakistani villages were destroyed and Afghan surviving troops took refuge in the houses of Afghan population. Afghan have an ammo depot in the area and Afghan chose the location of the attack very wisely. Afghan would had continuous supply of ammo from the nearby depot. PA knew the strategic depot and availability of ammo as soon as the depot was hit post destroyed multiple soldiers lost and heavy casualties sustained the remaining afghan troops were stuck in the afghan village and cut of from the supply line. Soon there were Pakistani gunships hovering on their heads and injured started losing lives. Afghan called Pakistani forces and asked for a cease fire. Afghan-Pak field meeting was held and Afghan admitted their fault and retreated with their fallen and wounded. 37 Afghan troops lost their lives and more than 100 were injured. Pakistan lost 12 lives and multiple injured.

Then Afghan forces started firing at Torkham border post at night and as soon as Pakistan replied with reply fire the Afghan posts went silent.

Today more troops artillery units and Gunship helicopters were deployed to the area and Afghan are not available at their posts.
