Because human operators can visually identify who they're engaging. Reduces collateral.
What is image processing applied on the live feed for? Throw in some stochastic capabilities in your algorithm along with some decent AI accelerators, and you have what they call "Bingo"....

Sometimes, you want to kill a few, maim a few, release a few, arrest a few and sometimes you want to execute someone in a specific way as to communicate your intent to the adversary wrt your commitment to the fight and lengths youre willing to go.

These ops are very complicated in nature. Sometimes your deep cover assets are in the target vehicle and you need him alive. Drone strikes are zero sum games. That only works under certain conditions when attrition is arbitary.

If it’s done in Pakistan than there are two issues.

1. States don’t ambush people in their own boundaries. They arrest, interrogate and prosecute them. If they were in Pakistan then they should have been raided. It’s shows weaken of state and it’s institutions.

2. If non-state actors were being used then this is more like vigilante justice and can end up in a Wild West scenario, where different groups are killing each other and no state control.

If it’s carried out behind enemy lines, then very well.

85k deaths due to terror attacks and Isi is best agency in the world?

This particular operation was executed perfectly but sadly this is an exception in the context of the war against TTP and Indian intelligence.

We only see the failures and not the successes of the ISI.

There are 100s of successes for every failure.

Executing armed combatants is fair game. They forfeited their "rights" the moment they picked up guns against the state.

Yes, we arrest them, interrogate them, feed them and when the time comes, our esteemed courts and honourable judges give them a ticket to freedom.
Then they come back and try to hit us again. Finish the menace whenever the opportunity comes.
This is the ideal and required soloution
