Marusthali – the Land of the Dead is one of the names that the Thar Desert is known by. It is the ninth largest subtropical desert located between Pakistan and India.

A place of sand and stone that is home to Pakistani tribes that have lived there for centuries. It is a place of stark beauty and eerie quiet, where the days are hot and the nights freezing. Yet among those extremes – one can find the most beautiful views to experience.

Take a look at the amazing serene beauty of the Thar Desert.

1. The sun rising and heating the cold sands of the desert – a moment to truly cherish

Our Global trek
2. A land full of tradition and age old culture that has surpassed the test of time

3. Where camels – the ships of the desert are still the best method of transportation – they are dressed up in traditional chaddars of bright colors

4. Where the strength of Pakistani women is tested daily

5. Within this vast desert of quiet beauty, you will find the Ranikot Fort which is also known as the Gateway to the desert

7. Where old traditions and methods are still employed to survive – a camel used to pull water from a water well

Beautiful, 1st and 4th pic tells the whole story of this desert.

May Allah always keep these lands blessed.

We are not a big country geographically. But, take a hour and half flight from south to north and you endup with surroundings like this. Truly remarkable. If my memory serve, we are a country which has got the highest gradient anywhere in the world (from sea level to highest peak K2). Effectively we live on a big giant slope going north to south.

Lala, as spectacular as deserts are, give me the rock and ice any day. I can take the cold, can't take the heat. Such respect for the locals there.

May Allah always keep these lands blessed.

We are not a big country geographically.

Well we aren't exactly small either. We stand as the 35th largest country by area out of 195. Just to give you a perspective, no EU state is larger than Pakistan (excluding Russia for obvious reasons). The largest EU state, Ukraine, is 75% the size of Pakistan.

Correct. From the lowest point on land to the second highest in the world. India's been second since it annexed Sikkim with Kanchenjunga's peak forming the border between it and Nepal.
