ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was sent back to Saudi Arabia after four hours of his homecoming.

Flight PK-786 carrying former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was landed at Islamabad Airport at the scheduled time of 8:45 am Monday morning.

Geo was the first channel that aired landing of the airplane of the former prime minister at Islamabad airport.

The military and security forces troops were posted at Islamabad airport with red alert caution.

The interior ministry officials and other top officials of the government were present at the airport on the occasion.

Mian Nawaz Sharif traveled in the Club Class from London to Islamabad and about five minutes before landing at Islamabad he went to the economy class to join the party workers.

The passengers of the flight were made to exit the plane by the backdoor of the airliner.

The commandoes surrounded the airplane as immigration officials entered in the plane and talked with Mian Nawaz Sharif who refused to give his passport to them. He also declined to be taken to anywhere by a helicopter or airplane.

The former prime minister came out of the plane after about two hours and went to Rawal Lounge where heavy contingents of police were deployed. Nawaz Sharif held talks with the government officials and representatives of Saudi government in the lounge and later formally arrested.

Col. (Rtd) Afzal, an official of National Accountability Bureau arrested Nawaz Sharif under the NAB corruption charges.

After about four hours he was deported to Saudi Arabia by a special flight.

New Delhi: Amid high drama on Monday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was arrested on his arrival at the Islamabad Airport and within hours deported to Saudi Arabia.

While Sharif's partymen and his lawyers immediately moved the court against the government’s move to deport him, the Pakistani authorities produced documents that show Sharif had indeed entered into a pact with the Saudi Arabian government for not returning to Pakistan for 10 years.

CNN-IBN is now in possession of copies of the documents — called the ‘Confidentiality and Hold Harmless’ agreement. It shows Sharif will not engage in any business or political activities against the interest of Pakistan.

The former prime minister’s brother Shahbaz Sharif had also entered into an understanding with the Saudi Arabian government for staying out of Pakistan for a period of 10 years.

The combative PML-N leader was confined to the PIA aircraft for nearly 90 minutes after it touched down at the Islamabad International airport, arrested on corruption charges and soon whisked away to another plane and deported to Jeddah.

As soon as the PIA flight PK-786 from London landed at 0915 hours IST, commandos surrounded the plane and senior officials boarded it to hold negotiations with Sharif, who refused to submit his passport to immigration authorities.

An emotional and teary Sharif told reporters on board the aircraft that he was "unsure" about his fate.

He said the Pakistani government had failed to rectify its past mistakes. "Going by what is happening, it seems that the government has not learnt from its mistakes. It is repeating the same mistakes that the previous dictator had done,” he said.

Sharif said he had asked his brother Shahbaz, who was scheduled to accompany him, to remain in London. "I do not know what treatment would be meted out to me. At least Shahbaz would be there to look after the party".

In the continuing crackdown on Sharif's supporters, Pakistan police arrested top leaders of his PML-N party who were leading a procession to the airport to welcome their leader.

The police had sealed off a five km radius around the airport. Roadblocks were erected and prohibitory orders promulgated to prevent PML-N supporters from gathering near the airport.

A contingent of security forces including Rangers and the Elite Force commandos were deputed and armoured vehicles were patrolling the area.

Political experts say deporting Sharif was a better option for Musharraf than putting him under arrest as it would have lead to widespread protests in Pakistan.

.
Isnt sending him back, contmpt of court? hw will mushraff handle that?

.
AFAIK, 6 months jail for the official responsible (who will get a cushy job after release), Higher up govt. officials deny involvement, and the official responsible for ordering deportation corroborates their story.

. . .
No matter what government says it has now become totally impossible to fool the general public. The media that went along with NS has shown the truth and im a witness. Should NS be arrested and punished if he indeed has any cases against him. This proves he is more of a threat to Musharraf and his puppies of Q-league

So NS is a threat, but the PML-N is not? Are the remaining leaders of the PML-N eunuchs? Is the "secret" to improving the lot of the Pakistani people locked up only in NS's head? How terribly selfish of him. He should share it with the rest of the PML-N leaders and workers so that they can share it with the masses and start working on helping them, instead of making the country "dependent" upon his "return".

Kadam barhao Nawaz Sharif (Saudi Arabia ki taraf) hum tumharay saath hain!

.
Military Rules the Country. It is true that each country has got an Army. Only Pak Army has got a country.
A slap on the face of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The most currupt peoples who salute the General are not deported rather have been given ministries to enjoy.

Bad for Democracy. Good for Dandacracy.

.
Nawaz made " ONE MORE DEAL "....on record.:rofl: :cheesy:

.
The PML-N is obviously going to take this up in court, and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the issue.

The impact of this deportation on the "negotiations" between the PPP and Mushy is going to be interesting as well. BB still has cases initiated by NS against her, and Mushy has shown his will to fight by "deporting" NS. So will the Mohtarma ease up on her demands?

.
Perhaps Musharaf wanted to warn BB too, But this is bad for democracy in Pakistan.

.
The guy laundered $21 million, now he can enjoy his life in saudi arabia.

.
But then he was forced to leave later.

Yeah only to arrive at Saudi in a PIA jet
which we all know what the abbreviation stand for :

P = Please
I = Inform
A = Allah

*Runs before any mod catches him

.
Interestingly this is not contempt of court.

Musharraf played his trump card and presented the real document of the deal with Nawaz where he signed that he won't return for another 10 years.
