you cheeeeeeky fellow.....dont make me suffer
Don't know yr but i will try to plant as many as i can ye to sawaab ka kaam bhi hai and it will benefit not us but our future generations too.by the way, how many trees will you plant ?
We have enough schools and hospitals in Lahore/Pindi. So Metro was not so much out of the line.
You are counting it as if only one person is planting. Its going to be done in 10000 parts and have budget of 1285 million. multiply one person with probably 10000 or 100000 and see the result.
I'm not very good at maths , hope I'm not embarrassing myself.
World average of forest area is around 26 %.
If you add Pakistan and India, its around 26 %.
Pakistan is much better than Qatar which is 0%. Egypt has 0.07%
Suriname has around 90 %.
New Recruit
My bad. 1285 million + another 1285 million ( fed +provincial gov.) will be spent to plant 5.5 million trees in punjab only.Is the budget allocated to this project mentioned anywhere?
Assuming it takes a team of three people (to dig the hole in a suitable area, get the sapling to it, and then plant and water it) 5 minutes to plant one tree, one team will plant about 96 trees per 8 hour shift with no breaks. To plant about 55,000 trees per day (about 20 million per year to meet the stated goal of 100 millions trees over 5 years) will requite about 573 3-man teams, or about 1750 people (not counting any supervisors or managers etc.). Paying them minimum wage would total about a billion PKR over 5 years, not counting any other costs associated with such a vast project.
If the quoted budget of 1285 million is to be believed, it leaves about 300 million PKR for all the other costs: the trees, transportation of the saplings, labor and water, supervision, tending to the saplings once planted, replacing lost saplings, etc. etc.), not counting days off due to weather and manpower issues.
Possible, but not likely.
