Saudi national Abu Obadya al-Abassi, 10, who was reportedly named the "Cub of Baghdadi" by members of ISIS, was allegedly killed in battle, according to a YouTube video via English Alarabiya posted by the terror group.

A 10-year-old member of the ISIS terror group has been reportedly killed while fighting in the Middle East. Going by the name Abu Obadya al-Abassi, ISIS posted a video on YouTube Wednesday announcing his death.

The YouTube video has garnered over 75,000 hits as of Friday morning and depicts photos of the boy, but no tangible confirmation of his demise, according to The Jerusalem Post.

"It should be noted that there is no independent confirmation regarding the authenticity of the clip which was posted on YouTube showing the boy dressed in military fatigues and carrying weapons," the Post reported.

Those who've watched the clip have expressed "disgust over the use of children in warfare," it continued.

ISIS was formed last year from the group al-Qaida in Iraq and is led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. They have garnered international attention for their atrocities in Northern Iraq and civil war torn Syria.

Known as the "Cub of Baghdadi," the 10-year-old al-Abassi was a native of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

For its part, Saudi Arabia's top religious official has denounced ISIS, calling them in recent statements enemies of Islam and civilization.

Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh issued the statement in August via the Saudi Press Agency.

"Extremist and militant ideas and terrorism which spread decay on earth, destroying human civilization," said al-Sheikh, "are not in any way part of Islam, but are enemy number one of Islam, and Muslims are their first victims."

It is believed, though unconfirmed, that both al-Abassi and his father were killed in an airstrike by the United States as fighting continues.

News of the death of the Cub of Baghdadi comes as U.S. forces have launched airstrikes over the city of Kobani, which is located on the Syrian-Turkish border.

"The fight for the town situated near the Turkish frontier has become a major early test for the co-ordinated campaign aimed at degrading and destroying the terror group," reported Fox News.

"U.S. officials hope it could pull Turkey into the battle against the Islamic State as a means to opening up a new front, but also fear the country might stand aside and let two of its enemies, the Kurdish fighters and the Islamic State group, fight for the town."

Al-Abbasi. The son of the Abbasids and part of the Quraysh. The noblest and most ancient of all families. The lineage of Prophet Muhammad (saws) and all the Prophets. What the hell? The father must be mental.

10 year old?! Poor kid. 10 year old kids are supposed to enjoy their childhood. Not be on a battlefield not even in their own country!

I am shocked… This kid is without fault. It's the mental father's fault. Where is the mother? Family? Who creatures such retards and who takes his 10 year old son with him and brainwashes him? This must have consequences. I can't believe what I am reading.

I suggest that any "cleric" (independent one) that even voices a bit of support for ISIS to be executed immediately. This is war. I will never forgive those ISIS retards for destroying whole families.

I don't care (in this case) about all of Africa using child soldiers and children being used in wars since time immortal. This is different. KSA is a stable and secure country. There is no reason for his retard of a father to brainwash and take his 10 year old son with him. To a certain death at one point at least. And for the ISIS scums to now propagandize his death as something "honorable.".

It makes me sick. Maybe we indeed need a new French Revolution when it comes to the Najdi-dominated clergy.

Those vandals deserve death by this;

Thanks for posting "positive" news from KSA as usual @HAIDER .

WTH? 10 yr old? Which retarded parent did this to him?

. .
How does a 10 year old leave his parents and ends up in a war zone ? At that age my grandmother would come running after me if i left the street.

The Al-Abbasi family is a hugely respected Arab family in the Arab and Islamic world. I never believed that any member from such a illustrious family could make such a retarded and irresponsible choice. Now the father is dead but if he was alive. Man, I can't think what I would do to him.

Can't believe how the mother or family must feel. Relatives etc. So sad...

Obviously this is an extreme case totally unheard of (almost) but it's still shocking and does not make me less pissed off.

It's repulsive.RIP to the child (sry that i didn't begin with that,i was in shock about the news) ,obviously a 10 year old is in no mental capacity to take such decisions.Somebody stole his life, and,as sad as it may sound,it wasn't those who killed him in what probably was a combat melee or air strike.

The worst thing of all of this is that it was his father that took his life essentially by kidnapping him to Iraq. The one that is supposed to love him the most outside of the mother. That's what makes this even more shocking. Child-soldiers are killed regularly across the world but that is in volatile regions and wars. KSA is peaceful and the quality of life is very high. (KSA is number 34 on the HDI list) and the GDP per capita is above the EU average.

It is shocking and makes the fight against ISIS and similar ideologies (extreme in all forms) even more important.

The problem of the troublesome Najd region is systemic and irreversible. Its infested with an ideology that in the long term is deeply against the interests of the Saudi state, and the entire region. ISIS gets its spiritualism from Najd, you know that.

So the solution is not to execute one person. Drastic measures must be taken. But I dont think you will like my suggestion for a solution to the Najd problem.

You will find some hear in this very forum who will be happy about this news, and I can name them right now. One more Saudi dead they will say.

Najd and Najdis have nothing to do with this whole thing, in fact the most staunch liberals and secularists right now are coming from Najd, but would an ignorant Iranian know about the subject.

Such a waste, of Young sole!!! I wonder what turns them in Zombies, Brainless Animals???????

.
That may be true but thats different from saying Najd is the most liberal and secular of Saudi regions. I hope thats not what you are saying. If you are then

Najd is not the problem. Besides we are talking about 0,01% of the KSA population. Divide 33 million with 2000 ISIS members.

Read up about liberal/atheists etc. from Unaizah.

ISIS is attracking people from across the world. ISIS are textbook Khawarij that are world-renowned for their successful propaganda and recruiting. They are by far the most professional terrorist group out there.

You have hundreds of Western converts in their ranks. Converts from across the world. This is a "global movement" that knows no borders.

Thank the Almighty that you are not from Najd. o_O Simply hate that place and the people who were born there (no disrespect to my favorite Najdi goat)!

You can't have been there when you say so. At least not the real Najd. Najdis are famous for their hospitality and the province is also home to beautiful nature. Most of the Shia Arabs in Iraq can trace their ancestry to neighboring Najd or came from there in recent times. Same with Kuwait and much of Jordan and Syria. Likewise Eastern Arabia. The problem is obviously not Najdis who came from all backgrounds as a people.

It's extremism as a whole.

It's like equaling you Pasthuns with the Taliban. That would make no sense.

It is the problem. Not exclusively, but a large part of the problem.
Najd is Wahhabi heartland. Im not saying it to troll, its just the way it is. The same ideology that ISIS subscribes to.
There is a poll taken by an international organization (cant remember which), where people in Najd where asked whether ISIS represent the true Islam. Over 90 % said yes. And they didnt want KSA and US to bomb ISIS enclave in Syria.
The dangerous thing is to sweep it under the rugs and deny it. Otherwise you wont deal with the problem. Its time to get out of comfort zone and make difficult decisions regarding Najd.

Not just for the region, but also for the people of KSA.

None of the 15 Saudi Arabian hijackers (out of 19 in total) came from Najd. Most came from the Southern regions and were originally of Yemeni background. OBL himself was half Yemeni and half Syrian and always trusted Yemenis the most. He even had Yemeni wife's when he was killed in Pakistan.

LOL, there is nothing called Wahhabism. Nobody calls himself that. It's the Hanbali fiqh. One of the 4 recognized madahib in Sunni Islam. It's the most conservative Sunni madahib. But so what? Nobody in Najd is killing Shias or anyone. The Hanbali fiqh is even the official fiqh of the clergy and state despite KSA having all madahib native in its lands.

Hanbali - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ISIS are textbook Khawarij. Recognized as such by Sunni and Shia scholars alike.

Where do you have this source from? Give me the Arabic source please not some English article as there are weekly lies written about KSA, the Arab world, ME etc. You should know that as an Iranian. Secondly the Syrian regime for instance is behind a big stream of propaganda against all those Arab countries that are not supporting the Al-Assad regime.
Similarily ISIS have been engaged in a giant propaganda campaign against KSA on social media etc. and have made various of nonsense claims such as 2 Saudi Arabian pilots defecting to ISIS in Syria along with their fighter jets etc.

@Mosamania and any other Arabic speaker can confirm this as well.

Najd is the seat of the central power. Riyahd is the capital city, the House of Saud are from Najd, the vast majority of the clergy is from Najd etc.

But Najdis as people are not the problem.

If Najdis were the problem half of Iraq, Jordan, Syria and most of the Eastern Arabian would be a problem. Hell even Palestine and large areas of Egypt as many ancient tribes from Najd migrated to nearby areas or further away (Northern Africa etc.)
It's extremism as a whole and it can influence anybody. Besides let me once again repeat that ISIS members make up an almost nonexistent percentage of the entire population. News like that and others will hopefully make the few sympathizers rethink their sympathy.

His parents are absolute scum-bags for allowing him to fight - when he should have been in school learning and enriching himself with knowledge
