Me too. Only Saif ul Mulook near Naran.
And here is my little story: Way back in 1990 (or 1991) my Karachi University students team went to a conference in Khanaspur, Ayyubia, decided not to proceed to Kaghan/Naran. I think it was late April or early May. I don't recall exactly when. The fear was snow and icy roads. But I was determined to solo if I had to. So I parted my party and went solo to Naran.
I really wanted to see Lake Saif ul Mulook, come what way!!
From Naran, one could ONLY hike to Lake Saif ul Mulook then (deep snow). It was to be, I think, an 8 KM trail. Little does a Karachiite know about snow/ice! The trail tough! But I was lucky to join a group of students from some university in Punjab--perhaps Faisalabad University.
They accommodated me and even rescued me as I was about to slide off a steep icy slope.
We all made to the Lake. Offered prayers there. There may have been no more than 5 people there then. It was beautiful. Mostly frozen though. And very quiet. I still remember one of the students, after the prayers, said special words like "And thank Allah especially that finally someone from Punjab is the Prime Minister of Pakistan" (referring to Nawaz Sharif).
A nice little story, aint' it? Too bad, I had a cheap camera which had an invisible hole in it. So the film was all "exposed"; I learned that once I made back to Karachi. I cried for days. Wonderful memories gone forever except in my ageing head.
