The thing is that for many years you have been receiving aid from USA, now that money was integrated into the expenses of the nation (defence or other wise), now suddenly is this aid gets suspended then it will have some sort of impact on the Pakistani economy.
You can say that you don’t need aid but you need to provide provisions so that this withdrawal will least impact Pakistan.

The Aid was for security, don't think it's cancellation will have an impact on the economy itself, maybe indirectly if they see the need to increase defence expenditure.

The Defence section was funneled into purchasing, any other NEVER went to the economy as such and more so into uplift programs. Purchasing for the defense was for equipment that was already US; that funding was already being staved off and preparations were made to make cuts/adjustments in support purchases to allow for the decrease in funds. As such the impact will no longer be relevant in less than a year.

Look at it this way: It is good to see PMIK doing everything he possibly can to improve his nation's economy. It is the mark of a good leader to put his nation above all else. If he can get the economy back on track, that is the best reward for his efforts. His running "door to door" has created the breathing room to approach the IMF as a last resort, and on better terms than would be possible otherwise. He is going about it the correct way. Anybody else would have gone to IMF and put Pakistan is a even worse situation down the road. How do you think things got this bad to begin with?

Everyone knows Pakistan does not have $20 billion. Pakistan would do this just to make a point, and it would be pretty obvious. And they would announce the cancellation the very next day, so any misunderstanding would be cleared immediately.

Anyway, this is clearly not a serious recommendation. I am just illustrating how the US judges everyone else while conveniently ignoring its own shortcomings.

Thank you for the clarification. What you are trying to illustrate about USA is actually true for all countries in the international geopolitical arena just about equally and nothing new.

Indian lobby is working very very hard it seems.
Although many Pakistani members would say, to hell with US Aid, but with dire economic situation this aid money was godsend.

What you dont understand is that this is a blessing. The suspension means freedom. It means we have to find that money and we will. This is not a poor country. We just need better tax collection and deal with the underworld economy thats bigger than te actual economy
