Metro is a luxury we cannot afford our country is at the brink of bankruptcy, it is akin to a beggar taking loans to buy a Ferrari we need dams and i used the word need because it is not a 'want' anymore it is required for our survival.

Since when metro is luxury that is clearly catered for the poor and middle class people who cannot afford everyday life of taxis or cars for that matter? Metro means nothing to rich people but practical to poor and middle class people especially the women which they can benefit greatly from the 24-hours of transit conveniently available for those people from point A to point B in the affordable price.

Metro is like air in the congested crowded city. There is the reason why even Imran Khan is forced to consider BRT project in the long term because of lack of modern transits at affordable price for the poor and middle class people.

Again, rich people don’t need metro when they afford fancy cars at their disposal to begin with.

What a logic patwari u think pak is America?

If that is patwari logic, then go and starve to death if that is the only option suitable to you.

Because GOD forbids if we try to progress and implement modern transits to improve the lifestyle of poor and middle class people at the affordable price, best to remain pauper and beg for money in form of charity or donation because that is what we are good at.

If people cannot afford three meals a day but they can afford pricey taxis in everyday life then?

To be able to afford foods, one need job and to get to the job, one need cheap and affordable fare to get to the job.

Again, it is catered for the poor and middle class people. Even the fund on hospital and education doesn’t eliminate poverty but that doesn’t mean they are not important as eliminating poverty.

However the poverty cannot be eliminated overnight. Metro projects and motorway projects bring jobs to the economy thus providing employment to the people to eliminate the poverty. They are the source of life that keeps people from being out on street.

Salination project costs billion dollars and so do basha dam and they are important due to water and energy crises but they don’t eliminate poverty indirectly who cannot afford three meals a day but those projects will decrease the poverty.

By your mentality, we will be forever stuck in poverty just as western world would have if they hadn’t invested in the technology at the time of one of largest famine in the early 17th century but those invested technology ended up decreasing the poverty until the western world has progressed which to the point almost everyone started to have jobs by then.

Economy lessens the poverty big time one way or other.

I understand you are kid with no clue to the economy much like clueless u-turn leader but I suggest you pay attention to the economy class.

Mass transit will reduce oil imports for years. 1.2 billion is cheap compared to our oil imports. As far as I'm concerned we need more mass transit.

10 billion per year in oil imports. How much petrol consumption would be reduced by using electric mass transit powered by local solar or hydro? Think about that.

I won't even mention reduction in pollution and traffic. Benefits out way the costs.

All large Pakistani cities should have mass transit. Petrol should be taxed to pay for it. Would help the forex situation greater then anything.

500,000 people per day can be moved by the Orange Line using electricity that can come from domestic sources (Hydro, Solar, Thar Coal, NG). How much petrol does that take off the import bill? I have relatives that complain about the orange line...then complain about the PKR drop...It drives me nuts. The orange line will help our forex problem by reducing petrol consumption. We need more of these transit lines....powered by solar panels.

Uninformed people complaining just to complain.

Pray for offshore oil......how about we build solar powered mass transit systems to eliminate the need for oil.
