Long discussions........... and I thought that PAF/PAC main requirement for AZM is "it should be ITAR free". Not 100% indigenous, instead as much indigenous as possible but it should be ITAR free.

Absolutely true.
Infact there are more chances of Pakistan ditch to Russian (towards Chinese option) then Russian ditch to Pakistan. But the probability of both are very low.
Dear it's not yet finalised as per public domain information shared by PAF/PAC.
Also what you shared is actually 2 different design, not one so can you please tell, which one you are talking about?
(Just for your info, these two designs are already discussed here a lot and conclusion is that...
جب تک سر پر نہ پڑے تب تک ہم نے کچھ نہیں کرنا اور جب ضرورت پڑے تو اپنی رفتار سے دنیا کو حیران کر دینا، پاکستانی ایسی ہی قوم ہے۔
That's why It's better to have no Stop-Gap solution (unless it threatened security seriously). That will lead to quick development of JF17 and AZM.
On the other...
My Guess:
1- JF17 Block-3 Development, Testing and Production will go parallel.
2- You won't see Block-3 flying for sometime like a year and or half and then a good number comes within short period of few months.

On a side note, those who...
Please define "Soon".
1st prototype is made not so long ago and with an old engine and probably in testing phase. New engine is on testing right now and not even installed in prototype.
I Don't expect Operational Block-3 before 2023-25 timeline.
Now PAC development is standstill.
May be PAF is thinking of VTOL, because it's a derivative of china carrier based 5th gen proposed fighter. For me That's the best case scenario for this.
