Well, here's what İ don't get. As long as the animal is consumed after it's being killed, what would be the problem? İ mean what extra harm/good will it do to an animal, by killing it just for hunger or for religion and hunger?

The meat of the animal is distributed among the poors. İt's not like we throw the animal away after it's gotten slaughtered :)
