He could've been compelled to release information that was classified. An IAF pilot is as valuable asset as you can get.
They could have kept him longer (not hurt him but hold him) under any pretext given the seriousness of the situation.

Since you asked.
Since you asked. This is our version as opposed to peace gesture version by Imran Khan.
IAF’s MiG-2 Bison crashed into across LoC and its pilot Abhinandan was captured by Pakistan forces. On February 28, after a day of anxiety and relentless diplomatic pressure from India, Pakistan decided to...
Does ground reality matter though? If people in both countries are happy to be living in a 3rd world country but be able to one up each other on the basis of as trivial as this, they should be able to.
Living conditions dont really say much about a country as much as who's history is more...
There is nothing to suggest India or Indians do too? Why US is choosing to not reveal details is anyone's guess.
Agreed but India take heart from the fact that they forced Pakistan into returning him with their aggressive diplomacy. So win from Jaws of defeat if you see it that way?
No sanctions because world chooses to believe India that this lockdown? is precautionary.
And because it's India's internal matter? Just like they are silent on Hong Kong.
I'm all for it. But I said why I think it won't come out. You think Pakistan public will be okay to hearing that their army lied all along and will just sit idle?
Well okay.
Because I'm quite sure Indians wont like it one bit that their army and government lied to them.
or or they know...
What IAF spanking?
We shot down our own chopper? It was a war like situation and someone made a colossal mistake and they are being dealt with.
India managed to chase PAF out in quick time and one pilot ended up crossing into Pakistani airspace. You downed him, but India's aggressive...
India's action was a retaliation to Pulwama. Turkey's action is preemptive.
And you'd be naive to assume that India flew into Pak without giving heads up to their allies. Turkey probably did and were warned against it, but went ahead anyway.
But that's because you choose to believe the PAF version. Which is perfectly fine. Indians believe, IAF bombed a terror camp in balakot. Pak retaliated. India lost a jet, their pilot captured. India's aggressive diplomacy forced Pak into releasing their pilot. So why would Indians be concerned...
Turkey isn't protecting their border though. What they think is a right course of action isn't really justifiable to the rest of the world.
And they are well within their rights to retaliate in a way to show their displeasure.
It's in Pakistan and India's best interest this doesn't come out. If one version is proven wrong. The people will cry for blood and cause major embarrassment for the army and might force them into doing something stupid.
Right now both camps are happy with the versions provided by their army...
Majority of Jammu & Kashmir isn't under curfew anymore.
Internet connectivity isn't restored for obvious reasons. Parts of Kashmir that have extremist elements have been kept under curfew and will probably remain under it till they deem so. Nothing any external party can do anything about...
BJP didn't expect Kashmir not be internationalised after what they did. UNSC special hearing came as a surprise, but no statement was a win. UNGA speech was good for Pakistan, but the momentum died down in a week, because Pakistan didn't do anything to follow it up with.
You can choose to live...
I'm sorry but this new situation is soon turning into the new status quo and Imran is running out of time to make this a relevant issue. A win for India.
Especially with Turkey offensive, world's attention is all on Syria.
