The Afghan military uses helicopters to ferry their special forces around because the Taliban occupies all the surrounding roads. Manpads would basically knock them out of the picture.
Then by that logic, Kayanis, Janjuas, etc aren't native either. Then the majority of AJK aren't "native". The PM's family have probably been living in Kashmir since the 17-18th centuries.
It's a shame that the quickest route is through Afghanistan. Kunduz and Mazar-e-Sharif connects to the heartlands of Uzbekistan/Tajikistan and has good access to Turkmenistan too.
If you go on TikTok, you'll see loads of random low-level politicians/businessmen with armed police/security convoys. Yet, foreign workers who are risking their lives aren't given the same protection. There should be regular IED sweeps on the routes too.
