The MTOW and thrust on the FC-1 we were talking about 10 years ago is not the same today. Looking the the F-15 and F-16 weights and engine thrusts shows the American story. The F-16 Block 60 is 85% heavier than Block 15!
. The same %age increase for the rngine thrust.
Interesting indeed. I am sure the amount the US is paying is available somewhere.
My cynical side thinks this might partly be to push Pakistan away from taking on the J-10
Thanks for the enlightenment on 1St hand knowledge.
What are the limitations on the Il-76 assets available?
How many Il-76 trips are need for each JF-17 built?
My line of thought being say, 2 il-76 trips for each JF-17 built, then then even at a relaxed pace, 2 return flights per week by...
Found this Pakistan Air Force Handbook: Strategic Information and Contacts - IBP USA - Google Books book and this is the best I could do to post the info here:
I am looking for good information/source giving the Jf-17 maximum speed BUT ALSO SPECIFYING THE ALTITUDE FOR THAT SPEED.
I.e. Is 1.6 at sea level or at some other altitude?
Thanks
The pod can only go as far back as the cannon does because they are both limited by the landing gear doors. The WMD-7 is 270cm, this means it will protrude past the inlet duct. ...??? ... Not sure if the is allowed? The 165 x 23 pixel rectangle propotionally represents the LPD on the FC-1...
Timing I think. The J-10 was officially acknowledged late 2006/early 2007. We now believe it is available for export but that has not been for long. TOT is a level higher, so maybe not available, which means higher costs.
We saw #213. Now we see #229. What if Chengdu is running a separate assembly line for FC-1s vs the JF-17 at Kamra? ... ... i.e. there are 29 FC-1s somewhere which are not part of PAK orders? ... ... Think also of the grey but unmarked FC-1 next to 229.vIf the FC-1s at Chengdu were PAF JF-17s...
Our best hope of some clarity here is Alan Warnes in the Dec issue of AFM.
The Dubai report from the other sources seem to be talking of the same deal announced in Paris. Also the 40 planes coincide with the remaining 40 Block II for PAF.
