Tanks are an asset that must be kept in the hat until the right time. When they can be used as a decisive force working with Armoured Infantry, there are far too many threats these days to leave them out in the firing line all the time. Of course that only applies for some situations.
This was written with an agenda, to try and show the need for F22's by Australia. Ausairpower is a biased unreliable source not taken seriously in any proper circles anyway.
The F35 will be the best thing in the region by far, no flanker will come close. The F22 is complete overkill and...
The Russian economy is suffering more than the US's. The finicial crises is hitting them hard and the low price of oil means they will have to rein in defence spending.
Surely the MRCA deal will go ahead, for the ToT if nothing else. India wants to be self sufficient and able to get high tech stuff from in-house, it needs the boost that ToT in this area would give to allow it to start realistically looking at becoming self sufficient. No full ToT from this deal...
Just because it is fast doesn't mean that it is invulnerable. Anti-ship missiles have already changed naval warfare by the way.
Personally I see subs being more prevalent in the future. What with decent littoral subs becoming more common these days.
They mention the raw performance of a clean aircraft. The F35 carries weapons internally (at least in a first day of war scenario) and isn't affected by the drag of pylons and weapons, the Su/Migs are. So their actual top speed in combat will be lower.
Also, if the Russians are claiming to...
When it says that the level of British officers should be regarded with pity is this an insult against the standard of British officers? (The English in the article isn't good at places). If so then I am going to take serious offence to that, well I would if it was written by somebody who had...
If it is a global collective effort every country will know the tech and how to counter it. Anyway we would still have good old air launched nukes, nukes that you could sneak in, biological/chemical warfare etc
Even if it did by magic get rid of the problem of possible nuclear war in the...
I think it was the Fighter Mafia mainly that wanted the F16 not to be upgraded and be kept as a lightweight fighter without the 'Gold plating' of extra technology.
I believe that the brown screen is the radar display, I could be wrong though.
I like that they have got rid of that annoying bluely green (or vice versa) the Soviets seemed so keen on, it has always bugged me:lol:
The amount of privately owned guns in America would cut any such attack well short of doing as much damage as Mumbai. Not to mention that the police are better equipped and trained (especially post 9/11) to deal with such an attack than the Indian police.
