    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

If this is true... WTF? They won't even tell us which freaking fighters they are operating, what else are they keeping quiet about? Are they still operating those ex-Ukraine MiG-29s as aggressors, or have they been returned?

    RD-93 Engine: Strength or Weakness?

According to Pakistan News Service - PakTribune the RD-93 has Digital Electronic Engine Control (DEEC), I doubt the original RD-33 would have had such a feature. From an Alan Warnes article published in the July 2004 issue of AFM:

India voices concerns over US drone sale to Pak

Don't worry, if the PAF are smart, they'll ensure Phalcon has plenty of "targets" to watch. http://www.defence.pk/forums/330461-post15.html http://www.idaerospace.com/tornado.html

PAF should've invested more on J-10s rather than JF-17s

To prove the Indian detractors wrong again. Nope, stamp of approval from their best F-16 pilots is enough.

    PAF Fire Power 2009

Sorry buddy, I don't think MK sahib will be telling you anything more about the actual thrust/weight of JF-17, he is quite strict about not revealing sensitive info. I think its safe to assume that the stated airframe weight is over-rated and/or the engine thrust is under-rated. According to...

Does PN need any separate air-striking force and base?

Separate bases and fighter squadrons for PN are not required, instead PAF and PN should be able to work as a single combined force. How I think they will do/are doing this: - Modifying their doctrines to take into account that PN requires air cover from PAF, and PAF is required to provide that...

Interview: Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Pakistan Air Force Chief of the Air S

My bad, I didn't read it properly. Yup, at least it confirms the various procurement projects are on schedule so far.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 2]

100 Countries Expected To Attend IDEAS2008 - Defense News I also think an engine change is unlikely and an upgraded RD-93 will be used, but I wouldn't rule it out.

JF-17 Thunder is Capable or Not ?

On the contrary Mr Troll, the mighty Su-30MKI can shoot down 12 fighters at once (Indians claim this because it can carry 12 missiles) and it is a stealth fighter (because of its Israeli radar jammers). What chance does the poor little JF-17 have? Read the following...

Some questions related to number of tanks in Pakistan Army

The AK has a 125 mm gun and auto-loader of Chinese origin according to Usman Ansari, not a Ukrainian 48 caliber (120 mm) gun.

Does PN need any separate air-striking force and base?

Of course, maritime strike aircraft always need to be twin-engined. Just look at this one: http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avf164.html Oh wait...

France, Germany vie to sell Pakistan subs

I don't think the West would transfer blueprints for anything worth showing to the Chinese, they want to keep their customers as long as possible.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 2]

I think you got the wrong idea Gambit, JF-17 uses the DSI design precisely because it is not complex. A fixed design, with no moving parts, that gives high intake efficiency at sub-sonic/supersonic flight up to ~Mach 2 (according to an article in Lockheed Martin's Code One magazine). Some bits...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 2]

The FBW in yaw axis was reported by Jane's in one of their articles on the improved PT-04 version of the JF, but the same article also said it would later be upgraded to FBW in all axis. I like how he KNOWS the PAF have chosen the SELEX Vixen AESA radar, just like he KNOWS the JF-17 has a FBW...
