India involved in illicit nuclear activities: US t

Imported - yes. But never exported anything. And that is what matters to the world when they talk of non-poliferation.

    Indian Intelligence Failure

I am yet to see a country carry out its "first test" over inhabited areas, unless of course they are sure of its performance. BTW its not an Indian perception its an international belief. http://www.nation.com.pk/daily/aug-2005/24/columns4.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babur_missile

    Sniper for PA

Sid, I used the word "believe" since I was not very sure. However, contrary to what people say, the G3 is an excellent rifle and even its scoped up version is good. The difference is in the use of ordinary ammo vis-a-vis match grade ammo.

India basks in a nuclear afterglow

That will be for us to prove to the US and IAEA. We will have to keep the two types of reactors separate to gain any long term trust from the international community. <!--QuoteBegin-sword9[/i]@Mar 18 2006, 09:25 AM Yes US not teaching u making bomb nor any other country teachign anyone els its...

    Pakistan to provide training

No doubt it is a dispute. But on what grounds - the two nation theory. That theory went out of window with:- - Handing over of 5000 sq miles of J&K to China, and - the separation of the eastern wing. The only solution for this problem to end is an Indo-Pak federation. That way it belongs to...

    Pakistan to provide training

You give them your G3, and with their poor training and weapons discipline, they will come back complaining about that rifle too. <!--QuoteBegin-Jana[/i]@Mar 19 2006, 06:36 PM Now as far as buying arms well the poot Nepalis if were not bullied they might buy some. For the moment they are...

    The Battle Of Chawinda

VisionHawk, The figures given by me are from 8th Sept till 22nd Sept. Various sources give different figures that vary slightly. On 8th Sept Pakistani 25 Cav played a crucial role in confusing and stopping the Indian 1 Armd Div. Thereafter the whole Pakistani 6th Armd Div joined the battle...

    Cant Stop the Madness

In the case of the Atlantique, it has ELINT equipment on board, hence it becomes a prime target even if it did not carry any weapons at that time. The Sir Creek area has had numerous prior intrusions by PAF and the IAF had been pulled up for not intercepting the aircraft in time. According to...

India involved in illicit nuclear activities: US t

Now let us not generalise, Indians and Pakistanis are all alike, similar resonse to similar questions. We are way beyond that point, it does not matter. It did bring peace :). Our Chinese friends had gone nuclear in 1964, and Nixon had made vague comments about using a nuke on us during the...

    Indian Intelligence Failure

I would'nt consider it an intelligence lapse. If Pakistan had been carrying out R&D and had been secretly test firing it, then one could blame the spooks, but no one should one blame them for something bought off the shelf and then "tested".

    Sniper for PA

The SSG is believed to use an assortment of sniper rifles like the scoped up G3, Finnish Tikka bolt actions, as well as Steyr SSG 69 7.62 x 51mm (.308 win) bolt actions. IMO the regular infantry battalions would be using scoped up G3s.

India basks in a nuclear afterglow

China has been flouting the NTP since the past 25 years or so, hence its not in any position to act as the innocent school boy. The Indo-US nuclear treaty does not violate the NTP because that nuclear reactors for civilian and military use will be separate and India has to follow all IAEA...

By us I mean India. Kashmir should not be an issue. Pakistan and India both have some portion of it so lets be happy with what we have. The region is of strategic importance and geopolitically it has emmence real estate value. By making Kashmir an obsession Pakistan suffering is - the economy...

Miro, ARKhan is partially correct when he says that the pilots died. However, only Sqn Ldr Bundela died and not the other pilot.Pilot who shot down Atlantique succumbs to MiG-21 crash injuries

    The Battle Of Chawinda

That is because in Phillora & Chawinda which was the responsibility of IA’s I Corps (1st Armd Div (IA) was fighting 6th Armd Div (PA). The tank losses were as under:- PA tank losses – 170 (including 11 captured by IA intact and 32 damaged). IA losses – 29 (excluding 41...

    Cant Stop the Madness

Technically the Atlantique is:- - An anti-submarine aircraft and hence can carry 3.5 tons of munitions, and - it can also be used for recee and surveillance. One must remember that during the Kargil ops the IAF MiG-21 pilot (Sqn Ldr Ajay Ahuja) who had ejected and fallen near Pakistani Army...

    Hawaldar Lalak Jan (NH)

A slight contrdiction in facts. The Indian Army had buried all unclaimed NLI troops with full military honours on the Kargil heights, so if body had not been sent back to his unit then in all probability the soldier was buried by 18 Grenadiers.
