Well, the American interceptor relies on Hit to Kill technology which means it has to actually collide with the incoming missile. Thus the definition!
Our AAD uses a P-charge [projectile charge] warhead (something like a shotgun charge); so no need to hit the warhead.......we just get close...
The biggest thing here is that AAD has scored a hit every time it's launched;that's a score of 4-0!
And this is exactly what you want with an interceptor- Reliability!:smokin:
Lord almighty! :woot: Couldn't stop myself from checking that link out!

Looking at the recent trends (DRDO acknowledging a program only after it reaches...
Spot on. Truer words were never said.
When the LCA was considered in the 1980s it was indeed a replacement for the MiGs in point interceptor role; however with the massive increase in the ASR during 1990s and later meant it has evolved as a light multi role fighter and not light interceptor...

Here are some thoughts on this whole N-MMRCA issue.....
1. Much depends on the configuration IN chooses for IAC 2. While many think it will not have a catapult, we can never be sure till the details of the design emerge.

I'm really sad at this turn of events! This is a crucial point for the indian fighter program.
Either we let LCA slide into another Marut- a great fighter whose time never came; or we could galvanize ourselves and take the indian fighter program to greater heights. We have taken the later...
