Shocker:woot:, the list of imported components are extensive.... Besides the engines and the propellers, the imported items in Saras include digital avionics system components, fuel system components, electrical power generation components, hydraulic system components, emergency system...

Yep true, nice design the Russian come up with, but unfortunately don't have the finances to pursue them. Those who buy the design, are not qualified to commercialize, what a waste.:angry:

I fail to understand relevance of Emraer here. They are very successful aviation firm and no need to tag them along with NAL, who have yet to design, forget commercializing any thing.

Just looked around a bit, Apparently the design was bought from Russian firm MDB, after design firm could not continue with the indo-russia venture duet. After spending countless time trying to figure out what went wrong, NAl has called in original designer to show them the way.:lol: News...

This is what found of SARAS engine and propeller: Selection of engine-propeller combination: Since PT6A-67A engine that was flying in Beech star was selected for SARAS PT -2 , the obvious choice would have been the same propeller driven by this engine on the BEECH aircraft. McCauley, USA...

Ya I know it is two years old news, but am not sure it is inducted in Army. IIRC it was scheduled for "FINAL" (as if there is any) trials this MAY.

It seems the propellers are from a german company MT Propellers MT-Propeller Website. It is there only in the crash report of Saras.

I must say Saras is a nice looking aircraft and definitely fill a niche in the market. But looking at all the indian so called indigenous achievements, I have a question. HOW MUCH SARAS IS INDIGENOUS??? Indigenous as in .....you know :azn: All suggestion are :welcome:
