Short reply read what i said before before the modern concept of countries came people were known by there regions like middle eastern were arabs europeans as europeans and south asians as indians .. Thats all im trying to say india is a region or rather call it a continent

You only say east punjabis would live with tamils because both of them are part of india today so are used to it lets go back when there was no concept of a union and there was no east or west punjab just one united punjab

Take punjabis and tamils then if there was no concept of a union and both were happily separate independent countries why on earth would they join each other? An EU type union might have been possible after fighting each other but a single state noo!!
