Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

Please avoid spreading misinformation that Sejil was discontinued. Sejil has a specialized role while Ghadr series is Iran's long range "bread and butter". As quasi ballistic missile Fatah family has lower speed and hence is inherently easier and better to guide. Qiam is a pure MaRVed ballistic...

Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

Whether Iran hacked the satcom connection (calling it EW), or had a true EW asset on the ground or lets say the air, is not the point here. Whether Iran managed to hit the communication node responsible for those drones and just called it EW for propaganda is also not important. Important is...

Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

Wow, Sardar Hajizadehs claim or EW operation against U.S drone while Turmp was watching the aftermath of the BM attack in the situation room is apparently confirmed by the U.S one week after it happend. Hajizadeh said this op may have been more important than the devastating BM attack itself...

Are Iranians lying about the ”10 seconds reaction time”.

One Tor covers 0-2500m and the other 2500-5000m. They share the work as they lack a expensive advanced radar like the Pantsir-S1. That's how they work in the battery when connected to each other. When isolated and without connection, according to emergency protocol one units of the battery...

Are Iranians lying about the ”10 seconds reaction time”.

Your approach to the issue is wrong. First things first: A Tor-M1 has two modes when using its own search radar: High altitude and low altitude --> 2 Tor can cover the whole envelope. This isolated Tor likely was in high altitude mode, had no link to other Tors that covered low altitude und...

Did we shoot our own passenger plane?

Here a interview from yesterday night: https://www.telewebion.com/episode/2190819 IRGC man tries to avoid blaming others regarding not closing the airspace. But some useful details.

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

The design is from the mid 80's, still state of the art but lacking computing power to do complex signal analysis, today standard in all Iranian systems. Under 90% of the conditions it would not need it anyway. Longer range systems and the IADS would do that. If something enters Tor kill...

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

@sha ha As explained in detail, this generation system computer systems don't do signal analysis, at least not in army short range systems that normally never come in such situations. It's IFF system is Soviet military IFF. Not 2000s civilian IFF. Again a Tor outside IADS, on it's own, should...

Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

The Danish account on the demoralizing effect of a very limited BM attack shows what true shock and awe is. "Helicopters split in half". I bet those night time C-130 flights were mainly to remove those wreckage. General Salami also confirmed that 2 missiles failed inside Iran. So if original 15...

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

The key issue is that a single Tor vehicle is a complete independend air defense system. It was ordered to move to that position and cover it. Well likely that this was outside the 4 system battery layout. This severely reduces your situational awarnes but also let you to send a Tor to a place...

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

That looks like a Tor. Only a Tor is prone to such a mistake: With the later Pantsir, it is the fastest reacting SHORAD system in the world. It can operate independently on its own. Design criteria back in the 80's was the capability to reliably intercept HARM type ARM approaching at up to...

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

Tor-M1 is at its core a early to mid-80's system even lacking digital Monitors. What makes you think it has a RCS - range comparison algorithm? CMs, more so stealth ones would be the most likely threat but high altitude could potentially have been a unknown kind of black asset.

    Iranian Air Defense Systems

People don't understand how a Tor system in Tehran region could have believed that an U.S asset made it all the way undetected to that critical region. The truth is that this was a realistic scenario. First: The U.S admitted that they had an ESM satellite that picked up radio emissions of the...

Did we shoot our own passenger plane?

At this point let me also say this: The Tor system is so deadly and has such low reaction times that it is best to use it when no friendly forces are near. It then covers a certain altitude and range in which it kills anything it finds. IFF is not up to date and normal system have only a...

Did we shoot our own passenger plane?

As I said on my first take on that issue... I just would like to know who was resonsible to allow flights to go on after the strike: Goverment or military. Heads need to roll at the right places.

Did we shoot our own passenger plane?

Alone the risk of a rouge MANPAD attack to blame Iran would have made it necessary to stop all flights until everything is clear. This was a mistake... Anyway: there is a mode in which the Ranzier command post does every engagment almost automatically. The individual crews in the Tor systems...

Satellite Photos of Iran's attack on US bases

That's the most important U.S base in Iraq with vast numbers of high value air assets. If it had no Patriot, it just shows the sad state of U.S operational ABM assets... But good let's believe the words of the opponent and postpone the counter ABM proof for the Fatah to another engagment.

Did we shoot our own passenger plane?

Anyone who knows a little about how the Tor-M1 works also knows that it has a emergency mode when under PGM saturation attack.... sadly in that mode it operates almost fully automatic. Possible that a reserve crew with low expirance and on highest alert just accidently got into that mode...
