You are right make sense totally, if india don't have 5th gen earliest then we shouldn't involve in this race. But consider senario if india able to induct 5th gen by playing Chinese 5th gen card. most probably F35 (American are good in playing such role). At that time can we wait for AZM ?

Yes but in coming years we can see independent naval air airm with own fighter jets, till then PAF will continue this role but PAF need to have heavyweight jets dedicated for this offense role over sea.

AZM is one and half decade's away for production or even more. Its upto PAF think tanks, what they think best in pakistan defense and ecnomical interest they will decide accordingly
