Its nice but at this time our SOF's have not matured to a point to use such dune buggies. Mainly because they do not launch extensive special ops away from the base. Their main preference for transportation remains Heli, Toyota, Motorbikes and para insertion etc.

POF Signs Joint Manufacture Agreement with KALASHINKOV in Russia yesterday. Bye Bye FN, Beretta and the others!
This is good for the desert ops but not for terrain in which our SOF operates. They need smaller vehicles that can negotiate narrow PAGDANDEE's and village GALI's! That is why the motorbikes are being used
Well generally speaking a Technical Report from ITD Directorate at GHQ lists the shortcomings of a system at the time of its field and technical trials. Such shortcomings, if in a great number, render the failure of the system. Most certainly the manufacturer can remove the shortcomings and...
I do not yet have the full technical details of the said trials. But I know for sure that none of the participating contestants were shortlisted or approved for further evaluation.
Pakistan Army tested these 'shoot-and-scoot' systems from Yugoslavia, South Africa & France. All of them failed during the trials. So the project is back to square one
This is not an ATGM, neither its an unguided rocket like ALCOTAN or RPG. More suited towards high explosive, rocket propelled round fired from a RR at close proximity
The only fancy thing on the Alcotan 100 is the VOSEL aiming unit. How will the Alcotan fire in case the said electronic unit breaks down or its electronics fried for some reason? The entire unit will be useless. And RPG-7 rockets are far more ergonomically easier to carry in a battlefield then a...
Regarding replacement of RPG-7, I believe that RPG-7 remains the best choice in easy carry and 'unguided' rocket systems for Pakistan. This is because the ammunition is abundantly available from more than one source and second coupled with a passive sight like PD-7 it can be lethal day/ night...
The PD-7 sight is designed for ALL types of RPG-7 ammunition. So catering for POF made rockets would not be an issue. The other good thing is that this sighting system comes with a night vision attachment as well both in Image Intensification and Thermal technology. So amazingly it will give the...
I have today received news that the Belarus company has offered the said sight for RPG-7 recently. If they have then this would perhaps be the most positive and best force multiplier to have with the extensive use of RPG-7 in our forces.
'Several' is a wrong statement.
I know Daudsons and have visited their factory in Peshawar. They only make shells of the bombs for PAF and not the explosives etc.
This Pak Metal company that has sold the Alcotan is not licensed to make explosives or rockets and it would not be possible for...
PRIVATELY OWNED companies in Pakistan are not authorized to produce or manufacture rockets and explosives. This is only mandated to Government or Semi Government entities
