An argument with APJ Abdul Kalam

Absolute rubbish. Firstly, it is a very very old garbage and is called 'the professor and the Christian'. Secondly, not surprisingly, it is filled with fallacies; not to mention, the conversation has been set up for the professor to fail.

ICA orders India to stop work on Kishan Ganga Dam

Means, India can go ahead with all sorts of construction except for constructing any permanent structure, on the riverbed, that may prevent restoration of full flow of the river, in case, the final verdict goes against India and requires such restoration of the flow of river. It is far from...

India rejected separate Sikh Marriage Act which Pak enacted 4 yrs ago

Perhaps. But two wrongs don't make a right. Suitable amendments in the current act, disassociating the Act from the term 'Hindu', should be enough. If not, do explain why?

India postpones Teesta water sharing deal

I don't think Mamata had any other option left. The government's mismanagement had pushed her against a wall and the only way out was by screeching and screaming, not silently crawling. Mamata, as it is, is not the kind of politician who likes to crawl. The government should have taken her...

India postpones Teesta water sharing deal

It appears that the draft had provision for supplying BD with 25,000 cu.sec of water during dry season, but the final draft increased this amount to 33,000 cu.sec without discussing with Mamata. I think Mamata is actually right, this time around.

India postpones Teesta water sharing deal

"Khoshir Eid" (should be 'Khushir Eid') translates into 'Joyous Eid'. Can anybody clarify what is objectionable about the term. Isn't Eid joyous? Beats me. As with spelling mistake of 'Eid', well, grow up.

India postpones Teesta water sharing deal

+1. This UPA govt. is turning out to be the most disorganized govt. India ever had. There is complete disconnect at every level and it seems nobody is in charge. This govt. could easily rank as one the worst govt. India had in recent years.

The atrocities in the 1971 civil war

I doubt if you understand what Operation Searchlight is. It refers to the brutal crackdown on AL by PA that started in the middle of the night of 25th March, 1971 and soon turned into a campaign for extermination of Hindus through out the period till December. Pre-25th March, India was nowhere...

The atrocities in the 1971 civil war

Firstly, none of us has 'retracted' any claim on numbers for the simple reason that none of us (i.e. Abir and I) made that claim in the first place. We are pointing out that numbers don't matter to the question of genocide, to which PA stands accused. Secondly, none of us has 'accepted' that...

The atrocities in the 1971 civil war

Neither do you have any semblance of idea about rural Bengal, and that too of 1971, nor do you understand the extend to which PA went, once the fall was certain, to leave the new emerging State of Bangladesh crippled. Also, the records (hilarious, I must say) were with Pakistan, and you know...
