The sad history of International Mother Tongue Day

You are trying to put an ethnic slant on this. In fact Urdu was chosen because it was not linked to any one native Pakistani group so it lacked any sort appearance of bias. Liaqat Ali Khan did not suggest Urdu simply because it was his mother tongue. This is wholly untrue. Urdu was meant to...

The sad history of International Mother Tongue Day

Making Urdu the national language and not Bengali was not showing disrespect to East Pakistanis. Today the national language of Pakistan is Urdu not Punjabi that is not showing any disrespect for Punjabi.

The sad history of International Mother Tongue Day

I didn't read about 21 Feb specifically ever, I read about incidents, I didn't even know the name of International Mother Tongue Day. But this incident was very poor, if it was a peaceful protest there wasn't a need to fire live bullets at the protesters.

The sad history of International Mother Tongue Day

Bengali shouldn't have been a national language even if a large part of the country spoke that language. In that case Punjabi should be a national language today. There is only one national language and that is Urdu.

    Che Guevara was a totalitarian.

What South American democracy did Che set back? The murderous rule of Batista, was that the shining beacon of democracy? Che made many mistakes, and Cuba paid for them, but he was sincere in his cause. As to the firing squads, after a complete political and ideological revolution of the people...

Raymond Davis Case: American Government officials confirm CIA status - New York Times

There was a column in Dawn, I cannot find it now, that was talking about how this was the same Hillary Clinton who wanted diplomatic immunity to be revoked for diplomats in US who had parking violations, and yet somehow she insists that this man should have diplomatic immunity.

Of course one should go after them. But that doesn't justify this man's actions, he has murdered two men. And if Pakistan's reaction has been somewhat slow against the radical heretics, as you say, that doesn't justify the attitude that get rid of them and we won't send these men into Pakistan...
