I can see how Pakistanis would be critical of US given its track record of leaving Pakistan in the past But Why would you want to cut ties completely? Pakistan's significance is there because it has decent ties both US and China, the two superpowers.

You don't know the reason why the doctor was detained, it could just be for questioning and maybe he will be released or maybe not....either way, one can't just have spies running around.
