    HAL Tejas vs JF-17

Well but the numbers don't add up. Can you please check using a calculator? I calculated using a calculator with 9,500 kg as the weight of LCA. The thrust of the RD 93 is at 86 kn with emergency thrust and GE F-404 is rated at 91 kn in emergency thrust. The gravitational acceleration is 9.8...

    HAL Tejas vs JF-17

Well I have my doubts in it. The MiG 21 had better turning capability and more power compared to the Mirage III in the Arab-Israeli conflict of the 60s and 70s. But the Israelis managed to out climb and out accelerate the MiG 21s. The JF 17 may have a better sustained turn rate but the LCA has a...

France and Germany Plan New 5th Generation Fighter, is it an Opportunity for India?

It is not the airframe design or the avionics that matter here. We need engine technology. It must be a 3rd gen Turbofan with Variable cycle. Cant have a leaky engine like the RD 33 or the GE 404. Above all a proper project management.

In biggest troop reduction, China to bring army down to 1 million

Yes most of them are stupid idiots. Party loyalty comes first in China. That is what happens in totalitarian regimes. And when was the last major international exercise that you had? In biggest troop reduction, China to bring army down to 1 million

Well I never denied that....what I told was about the increase in PLAN forces. The speed at which China is building Amphibious landing crafts and helicopter carriers they must be restructuring for amphibious operations. It is one of the most difficult operations and it is a nightmare for any...

In biggest troop reduction, China to bring army down to 1 million

Now they need to start training for the most effed up operations in all of warfare...'Amphibious landings'. Instead why not integrate these soldiers as Marines and give them better training?

Why we need F-16 planes when we have Tejas LCA?

So? We need a weapon that can go to war and achieve operational objectives, not just because we made it. The operational situation right now needs a medium weight category aircraft with range and payload for deep strike missions like SEAD and deploying PGM. LCA does not have the capability yet...

Why we need F-16 planes when we have Tejas LCA?

LCA neither has the range or the payload or the proven capability along with weapon diversity.

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

The major problem is we tried to integrate a lot of stuff into a very small airframe. That made it overweight. The worst requirement was for a true delta to have a STR of 28 degrees. Which is impossible as the delta is already a draggy airframe. And the airforce did not want to have levcons or...

Indian Navy outgunned 1 to 4 as China steps up presence in Indian Ocean

Yes but we are not going to take it out into high seas and fight far away from the mainland. If you are going to bring subs and fight in the Indian ocean it rather be nuclear.
