Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

I've been using the the Live Universal Awareness Map visual news aggregator for some years now, it tends to get updated very quickly. Have in mind that oftentimes the veracity of the news attributed is questionable though (the app just links the source to the visual map, you have to scrutinize...

Maybe we should update the title of the thread with the new operation name (Spring Peace).

Depending on where you put the minimum size to take into account, Greece has somewhere between 1,200 to 6,000 islands. About 200 of them are inhabited. This does not make Greece an island nation though, not even close. Here is a list of island countries for reference.

    Of protecting Earth's ecology

Mostly water, some carbon dioxide. The formula is CH₄[liquid] + 2O₂[liquid] → CO₂[gas] + 2H₂O[steam] Most Rockets do produce pollution, with the notable exception of those that use the Hydrolox reaction (Hydrogen and Oxygen).

    Of protecting Earth's ecology

There is actually ample and comprehensive evidence to the contrary. As well as broad scientific consensus on this matter. It seems though that you are viewing this predominantly with a political lens, so I'm going to concede the discussion. Thank you for the insight.

    Of protecting Earth's ecology

Now I understand the misconception. You think that you need a vastly larger percentage of the atmosphere to be CO2 for the climate to be impacted in any significant way. To give you some context, in the Jurassic period (when almost the whole world was a tropical jungle), the level of carbon...

    Of protecting Earth's ecology

Over the past 800,000 years ice core data shows that carbon dioxide has varied from values as low as 180 ppm to the pre-industrial level of 270 ppm. It currently sits at around 415ppm. This is not a rise of 0.01%, as you can plainly see.

Naval and Military developments in Turkey’s neighborhood

Generally speaking, I'd say that the article is pretty accurate. While HN is not strictly in dire straits, there are a lot of challenges going forward, given the fact that it is extremely difficult to maintain the current fleet numbers. I see 4 programs getting the green light or getting...

Turkey may need to obtain nuclear weapons - Erdogan

Why would Turkey want to attack a NATO ally with nuclear weapons - of all things?

    Pakistani Nuke umbrella for Turkey?

From a Real Politik standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense for Turkey to start a nuclear weapons program. Turkey is a part of the NPT treaty and a nuclear sharing NATO member. What are you guys talking about?

Turkey may need to obtain nuclear weapons - Erdogan

I don't really view this as a hint for Turkey moving on (or aiming) to the development of nuclear weapons. Erdogan knows pretty well that with Turkey signing the NPT and being part of NATO (thus taking advantage of the NU and being part of the nuclear sharing program) this ship has sailed, once...

Breaking: IRGC seized a British tanker

MESDAR has reversed course again and continues to S.Arabia. I think Iran let it go. https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:754161/zoom:10

It was not running for STENA on this one. The operator was another UK company, NORTHERN MARINE MANAGEMENT LIMITED. More than UK FoO.

The second one is a British owned supertanker, flying the flag of Liberia.
