NATO Forces Kill 13 Pak FC's out of a total of 27!

Don't be ridiculous. There is no pride associated with "killing Pakistanis". This is a conflict that is taking place in some of the harshest terrain known to man with multiple participants.

India, Pakistan cannot sideline Kashmir: Mirwaiz

Given that these are my post, they obviously reflect my opinions on the matter; and yes, all the people running around in Kashmir causing havoc under the banner of Islam are from my point of view terrorists. Having said that, I do not by default relate terrorism to "Islam"; having been born and...

India, Pakistan cannot sideline Kashmir: Mirwaiz

Again, I do not understand the logic behind Islamic terrorism. On one hand you want to engulf an entire region inhabited by Muslims into terrorism using the religion card but you also want to retain the ability to cry about human rights violations when there are reprisals. The two are mutually...

Pak scraps peace deal with Taliban

This is a very interesting topic and I would love to see a thread solely dedicated to this (which IMO is far more important than the usual Indo/Pak banter). Nonetheless its a good sign when the shortcomings of a preliminary plan can be identified. This process undoubtedly is going to be a long...

Tata, M&M in race for GM's Hummer

I highly doubt Tata or M&M will buy Hummer from GM. One of the primary reason for the dropping sales of these vehicles is the escalating cost of gasoline and the poor fuel efficiency of such large SUVs. Bottom line is that consumers just can't afford to drive these cars in large numbers anymore...

Pakistan's defence budget cut - retracted. Increased by 7.

India already controls the territory in question, it is Pakistan that has the history of attempting to acquire it through warfare. Given the context of military engagements your point is still moot. The reigns to stop these conflicts are in the hands of Pakistan, not India. The latter has not...

Pakistan's defence budget cut - retracted. Increased by 7.

The argument is moot. India has a no first use policy. The Pakistan army took its inspiration for Kargil from their counterpart's prior success in Operation Meghdoot. However the difference here is that India has more resources at its hand giving them the upper hand.

Pakistan's defence budget cut - retracted. Increased by 7.

What parts of Pakistani territory has India tried to "absorb"? In any conflict that has occurred to date all of the captured Pakistani territory has been returned with the exception of Bangladesh; and even in this case no foreign land was occupied or retained. I have as yet to see any Indian...

Pak scraps peace deal with Taliban

Actually this also has a lot to do with the details of the "deals" themselves. This is why I had posed this question earlier: The point being that all of these deals are useless unless they are crafted in a very meticulous manner so as to comprehensively include all parties. Subsequently when...

Pakistan's defence budget cut - retracted. Increased by 7.

Actually I think India is eventually going to be forced to increase its defense spending, possibly even a little over the 3% GDP mark. This is not because there is a need to directly challenge Pakistan militarily; that equation is already on India's side. There is undoubtedly a dire need to...

Pak scraps peace deal with Taliban

How well organized/formalized are these deals? Are their written contracts between the governments and the tribes/groups with each religious and/or political leader signing off? Or are they more verbal agreements with some but not all of the tribes/group/militias?

India, Pakistan cannot sideline Kashmir: Mirwaiz

Ok, but then if an insurgency is to be continued then there can be no complaints about human rights abuses because the Indian army will have no other option but to take a heavy handed approach to fighting terrorists who hide among civilians. There was a fairly amalgamated terrorist movement in...

MARTIAL LAW TO SAVE THE COUNTRY?

As a side question, how much of a possibility do you guys think there is for another coup d'etat and/or martial law being imposed at this time (Lo, medium, High)?

India, Russia in price row over purchase of helicopters

I don't think there are any "lessons to be taught" in such matter since they are primarily business arrangements. India's first choice for hardware has by default been Russia because of prior inventory. Russia is upset that India is looking to the west for their defense needs and taking a hard...

HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions

Weren't they looking for another engine since the GE F404 wasn't powerful enough? If that is the case, would the ambient temp trials have to be repeated to see how the new engine holds up?

Navy proposes to build huge ship landing docks.

I remember reading an article published by an Ivy League institution's India specific department which was talking about the lack of modular ship construction techniques in the Indian ship yards that has made it impossible for them to build megaships in large numbers. This issue needs to be...

Three killed by bomb at Danish mission in Pakistan

The only saving grace here is that an attack on a foreign embassy is unlikely to cause any sectarian violence.

    India reopens airbase

This has nothing to do with India/ Pakistan. My point is that developing military infrastructure is the only way to provide the service to provide disaster management services for the people in that region. If money is being spent to develop an airbase, it should be for more than just strike...

Three killed by bomb at Danish mission in Pakistan

I don't know how realistic it is to determine the capability for a person to engage in terrorism based on their nationality.

Three killed by bomb at Danish mission in Pakistan

You mean by making them targets for inhumane and cowardly acts of Islamist terrorism? Do you just love straw man arguments that much or is this a programmed reflex? By attempting to equate some of Europe's Holocaust denial policies to the matter at hand you're wasting time in addition to...
