US workers have gotten way less productive, and no one is sure why

what i find disgusting is that almost every reason tabulated in the article is about blaming the workers - they are quiet quitting, they are slacking off, taking advantage of tight market. Really ? public policies in the pandemic, pandemic itself, management and owners have no responsbility ...

Sangita finds out that she isn't British after all

LOL - what a rambling consfusing post. So "selecting ones own " is not racist when done in a public traded company but racist when done for PM. Sunak was elected - not by "too many minorities" - but merely 100 plus mostly white MPs. Actually he was defeated just two months back when he stood...

Sangita finds out that she isn't British after all

The brits always bashed indians too. But many lack the sense of self dignity to protest it. Once they are given some position or some fish or loave - everything is forgotten. But they are not so forgiving of muslims or other castes though.

Born To Fly: The Chinese Top Gun Maverick Copycat That Did a Vanishing Act

This is ridiculous - even in the few second trailer i can see it is plagiarized from old Top Gun(80s) - atleast took inspiration from. the pen flipping scene is a direct lift . the old instructor talking about olden times is remarkable similiar. Even the famous fist bump given by tom cruise...

63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck — including nearly half of six-figure earners

One must define what is paycheck to paycheck. Somebody making 300k but putting in 20k to retirement plan some 7k to health savings acounts etc will be left with 150 -160k after taxes. Technically they can go paycheck to paycheck in a high cost of living. But they will be fine - they have...

Boeing’s China orders ‘likely to be affected’ with home-grown C919 passenger jet set for certification, C919 likely to displace Airbus and Boeing sale

But they are not building the 1958 plane . They are building a plane trying to be competitive with latest boeing and airbus. They are playing catch up still and its a pretty tough thing to do. Imagine competing with Boeing which has like 70 year advantage.

China makes new progress in COVID-19 vaccines research, development

Thats not answering my question. I agree china did a great job with covid. but its vaccine industry seems like a huge dog and pony show to me. I strongly believe none of those 46 vaccines actually work to a level that trust can be placed at them. Thats why they keep muhsrroming. I think china...

Moderna refused China request to reveal vaccine technology

Thats not true. Chinese govt did not approve the vaccine yet. It is indeed strange why indonesia approved it. It may still be a trial - is indonesia paying for it ? - https://covid19.trackvaccines.org/vaccines/23/ Also to the best of my knowledge chinese govt did not release full set of...

SCMP: Is China heading for stagnation as property slump goes Japan’s way in a deja vu crisis

Agreed. But primary purpose of System is to serve people not to maintain power hierarchy. Power hierarchy is only needed for smooth functioning but the need for preserving it should not override sensible policies. ANyway, I personally think China handled this real estate thing very well...
