fact is once you put it in a vacuum any signs of thrust disappear, but let's say it does produce thrust to life 100 tonnes off the ground it would require 1,000 GW of electricity......just think about that.
the thing is a hoax and impracticable.
you would be better off trying to develop an...
it's not a total waste though. the tech and hard lessons learnt designing and building the Zumwalt can be used to build a better ship in the future.
the U.S just loves to waste money though. wish we were more efficient.
well at least we only built 3 of them
let's see what we could have built and bought with $22.5 billion dollars
12 Arleigh Brukes
or
8 Virginia Attack subs
or
220ish F-35s
or
1 Gerald R. Ford Carrier and 80% of a second one
but no point in crying over spilled milk.
this needs to happen ASAP. I would love to see us scrap our BMD projects and put that money into updating our silos which are based on 1950'60'70's tech, and then build 8 to 12 new SSBN subs each with 16 to 24 Trident missiles each holding 5 to 10 warheads.
then if I was Trump I would say we...
f-35 problems has been mostly software related.
tiltrotor is just difficult. U.S has been working on the Osprey for over 30 years. if China starts from scratch it'll take forever to develop it.
I would say KSA has the best airforce at least in quantity and quality of the aircraft, and Israelis have the best fighter pilots.
Qatar air force is nice considering the size of the country.
really no artillery? having to rely on other branches of the military
just buy an off the shelf MLRS instead.
thinking something like this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LRSVM_Morava
or HIMARS
both can be transported in the C-130 and A-400
I was talking blk II and III. I was going to add that each blk add improvement like AESA and HMD.
but you can only do so much with the airframe you got. Mig-29/35 is just better IMHO.
the more fuel you got the better, long time in the air for CAP. I guess if you are talking about...
well let's just point out the pros of the Mig-29 over the JF-17
-supermaneuverability
-longer combat range
-higher payload
-large AESA radar
-IRST
-HMD+high off bore sight missile
Mig-29 is superior than the JF-17, but if the jF-17 is 80% of the solution for 1/2 of the cost then JF-17 will take over market share from the Mig-29.
and I would bet it's lot cheaper to fly and maintain the JF-17 compared to the bigger Mig-29 as well
