I was taking AMCA in consideration i.e. weight of fighter is already decided so as its size. Bigger engine can take more fuel/payload, but why are negleciting the fact that AMCA will be stealth thats means no drop tanks, weapon load will be configure according to its internal pod.
Same thing...
Yes, Operating a stealth fighter is very expensive. But big the thing, bigger the problem. And also dont forget that there are too many small forward air bases from where operating FGFA will be difficult as we are facing it with MKI.
If we give the order of ~300 AMCA than development cost can...
Problem of adding FGFA is that--:raise:
--It is much big, so maintenance/operational even manufacturing cost is high.
--Although building the quality is good but sometimes quantity also matters. AMCA can give that quantity factor in lesser money.
--PAKFA will be a air superiority fighter so same...
You have good point here. But my idea is different. Right now ADA already chose the engine or engine parameters & nearly complete the design. They design AMCA around it, which took ~2 years. Now if they gonna change engine today, than there will be delay in whole program, which is untolerable.
No, change in engine also require too much change in a/c. Size difference is too much b/w GE414 & Al31. If we chose one it will be nearly impossible to change design. You can see it in LCA & Sitara.

Looks like now IA wants fit this beast to it every infantry division.
That will give some serious fire power to its older fashion/outdated infantry divisions.
1st FGFA will also single seater fighter. Initially IAF planed of 50 PAKFA & 300 FGFA but later IAF want to increase PAKFA upto 100+, simultaneously cut the FGFA no. Let us see what happen in future. That will remain mystry untill induction. You know future is always.......:azn:
:hitwall::hitwall:
Man I am sick of that HAL thing. Now it is time when either GOI should give authority of HAL to IAF or IAF should put RFI for IJT like FIFV fashion & where HAL will be fight competition paralleled to other companies. Actually thats just not the problem of HAL but also other...
:no::no:
Rafale's avionics is already comprable to 5gen.
Isreal is also purchasing only f35 airframe, while it will be equiped with all Isreal avionic including radar.
Actually if you will see F22 raptor, its avionic is now pretty outdated. Dont worry about FGFA, it will be great.
Radar will be given by Russia, few avionics will come from france & Isreal. Mostly, avionics will developed by DRDO in India just as MKi but now percentage will higher.;)
Exept the avionics there is also different in structural material. While PAKFA is using alloys/titenium in its body...
Until/unless there are tanks, AH64 is also reasonable. Just imaging ( not want any offence) random country attack on Turkey, than what should be your probability take down their infantry or halt their armor offense.
Yes you can say AH64 is not suited for your military doctrine & T129 is best...
:rofl::rofl:
Instead of questioning on Apache s capabilties, why you just dont split out that T129 is much more compatible for low intensity conflict & search-destroy low profile targets, where Apache is not efficient.:agree:
Your points are real worth here. I also have doubt about Vikrmadityas capability of launching operation too far from the base. Even I dont think it will able to launch independent operation until/unless enemy is too weak. It is already pretty much outdated due to many delays. I Hope future...
